Interested to know what other communities others on lemmy are apart of.
For me I guess you could say I’m apart of a bunch of MOBA communities on discord where I hang out.
Note that by communities I mean anywhere online where there are a bunnch of people you regularly communicate with, can be on other sites etc.
We also have !CommunityPromo@lemmy.ca for this purpose :)
Promote your favourite communities here, or ask about a community you are looking for. This includes groups for Lemmy, Kbin, Telegram, Matrix, Discord, Reddit, etc.
Please share some cool stuff in this thread, but also consider subscribing to the community above for more content like this over time
here’s one that I was going to post over there: !edc@sopuli.xyz
What do you carry on a daily basis?
It has cool wallets, pens, flashlights, gadgets, and anything else people carry with them
Oh, nice, I will be sure to check this out
Here’s my full list of subscriptions.

I came from reddit like many of the others. So far i went to gaming and world news mostly. I peeked around the meme and shitpost ones too.
Im also looking for new communities. They seem smaller but more interactive.
A part of? Or apart of? One means to be part of something, while the other means to be separate from it.
Yeah, I meant “a part of” - my bad, will edit title now
Besides this one, I’m in !asklemmy@lemmy.ml, !wouldyourather@lemmy.world, !discord_communities@lemmy.world, !cryptography@lemmy.ml, !casualconversation@lemmy.world, and !downvotedtooblivion@lemm.ee, with great emphasis on the last two.
Sounding.
I’m very active on !imageai@sh.itjust.works
Other than that, I like general conversation communities like !asklemmy@lemmy.ml, !asklemmy@lemmy.world and !casualconversation@lemmy.world.
Besides Lemmy, there’s the Beehaw, NovelAI and Midjourney discord servers where I do more lurking than contributing :)I haven’t really found any good ones yet. The closest would be different book communities, but I don’t visit them often enough.
I’m currently regularly posting to:
I’m mostly posting screenshots and other people are mostly posting fan art when they post.
It’s not very active, but I’ve also been posting (when I have content) to:
- !anime_irl (https://kbin.social/m/anime_irl)
I’m following with interest and occasionally commenting on:
There are some really fun images being generated over there lately with a lot of variety!
I like random art popping up in the sidebar from time to time on kbin. I’m not actively following but have seen some fun imagery occasionally pop-up from:
So maybe take a look at those as well if they sound interesting.
I’m also subbed to a bunch of other communities, but not interacting with them very much; no content of my own to post right now and they’re either (mostly) dormant or the people who are posting are not posting the sorts of content I’m interested in engaging with currently (but I might be interested in the future, so I subbed):
- !JRPGs (https://kbin.social/m/JRPGs)
- !visualnovels
- !programming
- !gamedev
- !gaming (https://kbin.social/m/gaming)
- !whatisthisthing
- !communitypromo
I joined that last one to hopefully find other interesting communities as well.
Occasionally I’ll interact with other communities when they pop-up in the newest threads feed on kbin.social – e.g. !196 or other meme communities. Sometimes people post things like technical problems they’re struggling with in !cpp or wherever and if I see the threads and have time I try to answer them.
If you find a community that looks interesting but is dormant, start posting regularly (like maybe once a day). If you get upvotes or comments, there are still people around who just don’t have content to interact with!
Edit: I should also add for the off kbin/lemmy part, I’m also on Hacker News (news.ycombinator.com) under a different username – although that has a tendency to piss me off, so I’m cutting back on reading it.
I was a part of a handful of communities on reddit, but now I’m here 😅
Women’s and feminist communities, stuff about spiders, BDSM and kink stuff (though just discussions, not posting anything), a handful of gaming and modding communities, tabletop games, and history stuff
IRL I was a part of the local TTRPG scene that would meet and play at game stores, but then Covid hit and I never went back to that. Played online for a bit, and am playing in person again, but now just with friends, not so much a community
Also a part of the local metal scene. Not in a band myself, though I filled in for guitar for a band a few times. Really, I just know a bunch of people in the scene
Amateur radio/ham radio. There are a few ham radio communities on lemmy, but they’re all fairly inactive. I occasionally check on some groups on matrix as well.
The next few years are looking quite exciting for ham radio, because we’re reaching the peak of the 11 year solar cycle. This gives us amazing conditions for long range communication.
