Trump sported neither gloves not a hair net as he worked at a branch of the fast food chain in Pennsylvania

Earlier this year, this location didn’t meet the compliance requirements of the Bucks County Health Department. A health inspection in March at the Feasterville-Trevose location resulted in four violations, including citing employees not having their “hands clean & properly washed.”

“Food employees are not washing their hands as required before putting on gloves, after handling soiled tableware, after handling raw meat, before handling clean tableware, equipment, utensils. CFSM must review hand washing requirements with staff. Observed employees handling raw beef with gloves and then switching gloves without hand washing step in-between,” the health inspector wrote.

The report also noted a lack of hairnets: “Food workers are not wearing hair restraints as required, which includes management that assists in packaging and preparing food. Employees shall wear hair restraints such as hats, hair coverings or nets, that are effectively designed and worn to keep their hair from contacting exposed food; clean equipment, utensils and linens; and unwrapped single-service and single-use articles.”

I think we should just forget talking about Turnip and just talk about Kamala Harris instead.

Did you know her mother, Shyamala Gopalan, was a biologist who arrived in the United States from India in 1958.

Thing is, wearing gloves in the first place is part of the issue, it gives a false sense of cleanliness and makes people not wash their hands as often as they should.

Edit: Downvote all you want, I’ve got my training in hygiene and sanitary practices in a kitchen environment, you wear gloves, you don’t feel that your hands are dirty, you don’t clean them as often. Gloves should be worn when you hurt your hands, that’s it.

I don’t understand this obsession with gloves. When I worked at McDonald’s, we didn’t wear gloves. Do you wear gloves when you cook at home? Of course not. Just wash your hands.

I uhh… I do sometimes wear gloves when cooking at home. Mainly for handling raw meat (especially mixing ground beef and such; helps keep it from getting underneath my nails). I’m still washing my hands after taking the gloves off, but they’re much easier to wash when they’re not coated in fat and raw meat juices

I don’t HAVE to wear gloves while at home (unless touching meat), because I know I’M the one washing my hands.

There are so many people in this world that refuse to wash their hands after using the restroom, and you want them to touch your food bare handed??? These same people that might have pulled their phone out to reply or scroll on it for a minute? The same phone that is probably chock full of germs…?

At least with gloves (especially those that put the gloves on before they prep your food), and proper management, you can at LEAST assume some sort of cleanliness.

The same exact thing can be said for your bare handed argument.

It’s called TRAINING. It’s something that happens before you get hired on, while you’re being trained on food prep, and is plastered over the walls of any decent food joint not run by a moron. For fools who don’t follow the guide, as I mentioned above, you get a verbal warning, leading up to getting fired, for not following something so simple. That’s where a manager comes in, which is supposed to be part of their job, to ensure these guidelines are being followed.

If you’re still confused, here is a similar poster that was plastered onto the walls of the fast food joint I worked at as a teenager (and had no issues following them, unlike some adults here…) to which I then became a manager and had to enforce them like they were on me.

Used to work in fast food.

What you’re supposed to do is wash hands, new gloves, and when you need to change your gloves again (they even have a handy little poster that reminds you when!), you wash hands, put new gloves on.

      It’s… really not that hard?

Isn’t that why you have training, and a manager to ensure proper steps are being taken?

My manager took her job seriously, and if she came around and noticed you:

          A) weren’t wearing gloves B) weren’t keeping to the guidelines by changing gloves at the allotted time C) ESPECIALLY not washing your hands

You’d get a verbal warning, write up for subsequent violations, and then fired for not being able to properly follow these simple guidelines.

I don’t want your bare hands touching my food. Period.

A hospital should be even more strict about these simple guidelines. Seeing you so vehemently against something as simple as gloves on top of washing your hands, makes me so glad I cook at home. Keep on, I guess. Who cares anymore, am I right?

            I don’t understand how you don’t get it…

Gloves aren’t a sign of cleanliness or hygiene and people using their clean hands is much better than people wearing gloves and not cleaning often enough because they don’t realize their gloves are dirty. It’s that simple. It’s even you see cooks wearing gloves that you should be worried.

weren’t keeping to the guidelines by changing gloves at the allotted time

See, from the get go that makes zero sense! Cleaning isn’t based on time, it’s based on what you manipulated!

I don’t understand why you are having such a hard time grasping such a simple thing as guidelines.

A guideline, in this case, is something to follow, which all employees should do, to prevent any unnecessary contamination. Gloves are an extra precaution, on top of washing your hands properly, that minimizes the risk of contaminating the very food that someone else is going to be putting into their body.

Gloves in a FOOD environment, alongside hair nets, are just a no brainer for someone that will be serving food to another human being. On the daily, I see motherfuckers who can’t even be bothered to wash their hands after using the restroom, and you expect me to see someone cooking food without gloves on, and continue to eat that shit???

The allotted time is for when you haven’t gotten your gloves dirty, or at the very least not contaminated with other food stuffs. That means that if you get your gloves covered in the food you are prepping, you go and wash your hands and put on a new pair of gloves. Simple as hell, and promotes a healthy cooking environment. There are literally no downsides, just the ones you make up in your head.

it gives a false sense of cleanliness and makes people not wash their hands as often as they should.

To expand in that. If someone wears gloves and touches e.g. raw chicken and then something else it’ll contaminate it and anything they’ll touch afterwards.

People asking for gloves are usually misguided. As said, due to gloves they’ll not charge gloves or wash when needed. And that’s pretty often.

Strangely there’s some huge craziness where there’s loads of comments that ask for gloves and think it’ll improve hygiene. While to me gloves indicate a poor hygiene understanding.

When I was starting out every resume book, class, website said not to put retail or food service jobs on your resume unless you were applying to your very first professional job (shows you can hold a job and have some experience working with others and taking orders from a manager) or it was relevant to the job you were applying to.

The reason Trump and his handlers think this is such a gotcha is because they got all their jobs from mommy and daddy and their parents’ friends. His cult has worked the same job their entire life, don’t actually work and collect worker’s comp, or don’t need a resume for the type of job they have.

          Not really impressive.

You know, I’ve had this debate with other managers at work. One was incensed because he got a resume that listed being a raid leader, and thought it was ridiculous. I told him I used to be a WoW raid leader and, even though it’s a game, it requires explaining encounters to people who might not be familiar with them, getting ten or more people to follow a game plan, staying calm when things aren’t going to plan, and a whole lot of other skills that are useful in the workplace. I’ve never thought to put it on my own resume, but I think it’s pretty valid.

That’s all. That’s the point of the campaigning. One more shitty Trump thing on the shitpile of shitty things that have accumulated in 8yrs won’t change anything.

What changes is convincing non voters to vote Kamala. And that happens by talking about Kamala, not Trump.
