I had a friend who tried it years ago and it was all just tech nerds so he eventually fell off of it. Yes the business and personalities side of it is big too, but I don’t think it’ll happen until people are joining because their irl friends are on it

I don’t think mastodon would ever be a destination for teens. But the idea that maybe one group of your mates in on service x and another on service y and you can connect due to a shared protocol is still a draw.

Why? Maybe we let Tweeter, Instagram and TikTok keep those people?
