It is my first day here and I found more political subs than development/programming. But I am a tech person. I think that mostly fediverse enthusiasm comes with a technical/programming background.
This is the right answer. I certainly wouldn’t say that Lemmy is “for” programmers, but it attracts a certain kind of audience, doesn’t it.
Are there any communities that are more social like ask reddit?
if you wanna simply to hang out with people, consider joining some matrix chats. Real time communication is easier with instant notifications.

Surely it does have that feeling. My block list is full of programming communities and it’s growing fast (not that i do have anything against it, but it just completely don’t interest me).
I ask because when I was researching Lemmy, it was said it’s for developers.I don’t see much content other then politics and Computer developer stuff . Feels limited
