I’ve been off Twitter and on mastodon for a long time now so take this with a grain of salt.

November changed mastodon forever. It’s 5-10x more active with a much broader userbase. Sure it’s gotten quieter than it was in December, but it went from ‘weird nerd twitter’ to ‘small social media’.

The events of this month have brought lemmy from ‘alpha demo of activitypub groups’ to ‘weird nerd reddit’

Brindlewood bay does something similar with ‘crowns’. That system just requires each character spend at least one crown per session. If it doesn’t come up naturally during gameplay, it has you do a short vignette right at the end.

Initially I my response was “big whoop” I just realized that I pretty much only use reddit through RIF. I won’t pay a subscription, so guess I’ll mostly be done with reddit.

Hopefully the communities on reddit will have a bit more usage on lemmy in the near future.
