I’m a male, 23 yo software developer. Admin of lemy.lol instance.
You can see the URL and request body from LemmyHttp class method docs: https://join-lemmy.org/api/classes/LemmyHttp.html#getPosts
I can recommend Mlem (iOS), Voyager (iOS/Android) and the default web UI.
Good to hear it’s out 🎉 I’m so hyped for the image proxy. Storing images permanently was costly.
If you’re not using the old domain then it would broke federation: https://join-lemmy.org/docs/administration/backup_and_restore.html?highlight=changing#changing-your-domain-name
I guess there is no way to move your post/comment history to a new domain. It’s like if you change your domain then you can’t use old DB and if you don’t change it then you can’t re-install with fresh DB :)
I don’t recommend re-installing an instance on the same domain. This caused me errors before I had to replace my domain. Like I couldn’t subscribe to same communities with my old username. If you have the old data, you should find a way to extract it.
Which method did you used to install your instance? If you used lemmy-ansible, then your data should be in /srv/lemmy
by default: https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy-ansible/blob/8c5337f5e5163c2452242db578119593d6fa00f1/examples/hosts#L13
They just randomly gone.
URL blocking is for spam. It’s not like instance blocking and I don’t think you want to filter out spam content yourself.
Hopefully we can see custom user filters too though. I would like to filter out Elon from my life.
Cool! Thats what I wanted to hear coz I want to do the same :)
It’s just Kbin and I hate it 🙂 Kbin has 10x more spam than Lemmy due to poor moderation.
“Ubuntu added on top” you mean Snap? No thanks :)
Nice post but hard to read. How about using tables?
head 1 | head 2 |
---|---|
body 1 | body 2 |
like this:
| head 1 | head 2 |
| --- | --- |
| body 1 | body 2 |
Edit: are we sure the data is correct? For example; Lemmy.ml has 16 communities over 10k. Which are linux, memes, asklemmy, technology, worldnews, privacy, opensource, gaming, fediverse, unixporn, linux_gaming, reddit, science, lemmy, selfhost, jerboa.
Really? I mainly code in JS and to be honest, Java gives me C# vibes.
I think the definition of best programming language here is not popular and hyped but “the one I use”. I really believe Java is worse than Rust for contributors. We’ll see how it goes.
I don’t understand those who criticize Lemmy developers. They were developing it while you were not here, I don’t think they will stop just because you are leaving :)
Cool, I didn’t know bots couldn’t vote :)
Your account is marked as bot. Is that intentional?
nah let them find it themselves.
With Lemmy 0.19, you can block instances individually FYI.
You need to pass host header. But if you really want to hide your IP, you need to proxy your outgoing activities too.
These docs are for latest Lemmy version so you may experience some mismatches with a legacy instance but I didn’t see something like that so far.
TBH I find the docs very easy. It’s about JS documentation familiarity I guess.
