This is great! How does this system handle security/privacy concerns?
Google automatically blurs faces and license plates, and there are vulnerable and secure locations that are blurred by request, for example.
I would hate to see something like this misused by law enforcement or by violent radicals.
Care to share an explanation or link about what panoramix is?
I think not exactly - it appears to be a fork, or more correctly a patched version of the official Android version.
I use FFUpdater, but I’ve been planning to switch to obtainium, so I’m definitely following this.
I’ve also used Fennec for Android, which I found indistinguishable from FF
I did a test drive of Floorp as well and I ran into a similar issue. I couldn’t get it working with touch input, although FF managed to smooth it out years ago. The fixes for Firefox didn’t seem to work for Floorp.
Fair enough!
The study covers an awful lot more than that. Even the posted excerpt discusses gait analysis and mechanics. Yes it’s a projection, but it’s hardly unfounded.
I think they specify that this applies over short distances. It looks at the 100m in particular.
I have the same question
I use Aurora Store exclusively. I’ve disabled Play store as much as possible on my phone. It works great and has a better search than Play Store. You can filter by free, ads, see embedded trackers, etc. For me, it is a much better option.
“Gains”
Yeah, I could get behind 90% of this. Find me that candidate/party and I would vote for them!
Well, those pregnancy hormones can bring on some unhinged thought patterns but this is Disney villain levels.
Defederate.
They can have a corporate silo. They can use an open standard. But they cannot do anything good for the fediverse. The best thing for the fediverse is to let them exist as a walled garden (and we can put up the wall).
There are about 10 million users on the free fediverse. That number has grown steadily and sustainably. There are 160 million threads users. They were instantaneously leveraged onto the platform by a billion dollar corporation (possibly in violation of antitrust laws).
If we federate, Threads won’t become a part of the fediverse; threads will become the fediverse.
EEE
You might also be interested in checking out kbin, mbin, SubLinks (under development), or PieFed. they each emerged for the reasons we are talking about. They are all free to try and AFAIK interoperable with lemmy for the time being.
As a surprising coincidence, I was in the midst of testing tesseract as I received this reply (replying now from the great web app). I believe you’ve said that it will not continue development for lemmy in the future if I recall correctly. I was able to log in just now with no issue. Does that mean it’s compatible with 0.19?
