    The trick that I’ve used also works for OCD: Say it to yourself. “The door is locked.”

    Works pretty well.

      Speaking it out loud is a great way to remember many things.

      “Keys, wallet, phone” as you get ready.

      “Door’s locked” as you leave.

      “Oven’s off”

      Etc

      …just you and me. can I take you to a restaurant that’s got glass tables? you can watch yourself while you are eating.

      I also need to do this occasionally, even though I never leave without locking I still need to consciously remind myself of the fact
