This is like Hitler thinking that “The German-Soviet war must end with LibEraTinG SiBeRiA”.

That’s a weird comparison, since Russia took Crimea from Ukraine after a covert invasion and sham election. Wouldn’t it be more like Czechoslovakia saying that it would take back Sudentenland from Nazi Germany? After all, Russia is invading with the excuse of protecting ethnic Russians.

Sham election? the majority of Crimea is Russian! It was given to Ukraine under soviet administration for easier logistical coordination. This isn’t proof of some divine right over ukraine. Any proof it was a sham election besides bluster? they had it like 3 times

The guy is a billionaire with properties in Florida. He’s just a western puppet overseeing the destruction of Ukraine, once it’s all over he’ll flee to the states and live in comfort.

I read the whole article and it never comes close to claiming that Zelensky is a billionaire. Feel free to quote if I missed something.

Pandora papers show that offshore companies of Zelensky and his team have received huge sums from offshore companies associated with Kolomoisky since 2012, when the Kvartal 95 studio started cooperating with the businessman’s 1 + 1 television channel. Ukrainian oligarchs, such as Rinat Akhmetov, Viktor Pinchuk, Igor Kolomoisky have also funded this guy. While Pandora papers don’t give an actual number, given how long this has been going on, it’s not an unreasonable estimate of his wealth. However, even if he’s not a full on billionaire, the guy is both incredibly corrupt and filthy rich.

You’re moving the goal posts there. Now it’s okay to just guess at numbers, and holdings as part of what is apparently a successful comedy studio he founded are self-evidently corrupt?

You’re right that there isn’t a number available for his wealth, so it has to be inferred from what’s publicly known. However, it’s quite obvious that Zelensky is utterly corrupt. Even the Guardian admits that Ukraine is the most corrupt nation in Europe. It would be absolutely fantastical that a person who is not corrupt somehow ended up in a position of power in Ukraine. The fact that Zelensky has direct ties to the oligarchs and offshores assets as Pandora papers show is direct proof of corruption.

Why not, especially given his platform was anti-corruption? Look, I don’t have Zelensky’s finances in front of me, I just don’t like accusations without a solid basis. I especially don’t like them against a man who is the constant target of propaganda from the Russian state and non-state actors.

I would have been a little extra wary because that’s a big claim, done some due diligence, and concluded that they’re almost certainly trustworthy. They don’t seem to have any agenda besides their stated anti-corruption agenda.

Actually, it’s pretty easy to see that they do have an agenda because they practically never expose western elites. If you look at the numbers, it’s overwhelmingly focused in countries the west considers to be adversaries.
