This document exists to lay out some general principles of running a small social network site that have worked for me. These principles are related to community building more than they are related to specific technologies.

I just found this article and thought it was rather neat. I haven’t carefully read it all through, though.

    Wow, great article, thanks for sharing! For me, my favorite part was the discussion about the missing technical aspects of the fediverse. For example, I would like to see a way to mirror or link accounts across instances. I also agree with the author that there should be more local chat spaces and custom instance behavior, since I think it would be great for community building

      Yeah, for sure! We, as a community and as users of free software, also have the power to ask for these features on each project. If we make enough noise the Fediverse can adapt :)
