    Lemmy will reach 100k users when 80k community or 8 communities with 10k users will move to lemmy from other platforms. r/communism101 or r/selfhosted are good candidates. The best way lemmy could reach sufficient audience is to acquire community by community. To do that in my eyes better to contact to admins, communities representatives or some clubs instead of posting about lemmy on reddit or mastodon

    Upd probably better to start with smaller but active communities like /r/jackrussellterrier or ham radio :)

      We’d def appreciate any help we could get w/ ppl reaching out to communities and seeing if they’d like to move here or set up their own lemmy instance. @nutomic@lemmy.ml and I aren’t that great at spreading lemmy around to other communities, we’d like to just code and work on the site.

        yeah sure this should be definitely a collective work! If any lemmy user could reach out his/her favourite community’s admin from any competing platform with smooth proposal to try to organise a “second space” at lemmy for their users who value foss, we could get some traction :)
