In the mid 2000s I had a few sites that I would occasionally get save games from but I cannot recall what they were and I’m not sure they would have survived in the same way ROMhacking.net did.
I was playing Max Payne 3 on my PS3 but unfortunately was experiencing consist crashes in chapter 5. It’s a great game but I would prefer not to replay it now that I own the PC version.
Here’s an extra tip by the way if you ever want to manually back up your saves you can check the PCGamingWiki page and it will list where the save file is located. Here is an example for Max Payne 3.
The PCGamingWiki will often tell you fixes to common bugs, quality of life improvements, and how to setup a controller as well. Really useful for older games.
The same tweaks should also work on Linux a majority of the time.
For Windows I’ve used Game Save Manger for years, since it’ll auto find save locations that you want to select to be backed up.
As for saves. I’ve had some luck finding them from nexusmods and sometimes steam message boards or guides.

On Linux you could use a program like Timeshift and specify the general directory your save files are located in and have them backed up on a schedule as well.

That sounds like what I’m going to end up doing. I wasn’t sure if there was a general well known hub for save files I was unaware of.
Yeah, it’s where I seen lot of 100% complete save files. Used it to see the Arkham Knight true ending over doing the ridiculous amount of collectables.
Alternatively, a lot of games have save editors that you can sometimes use to rebuild your save. I’ve found some other saves on nexus mods too.

Maybe you mean Gamefaqs. Not all games have it obviously, but there is a saves category for some. Here Skyrim as an example. And to search for PC games: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/pc
