The mother of a friend of mine was homeless in the GDR. She got a flat, she got education, she got work, she got a nice family, she had healthcare, they bought a house. My friend is much worse off now.
Ah, yeah, communism equals gulag bc there are no other possible ways of doing communism. And good thing you can be poor and homeless now, sounds like a grand ol’ time! Just ignore the fact that some folks do pretty crime bc they’d rather spend time in jail for a guaranteed meal and shelter, but w/e, at least it’s not Disney fairytale communism.
I want to own the value I produce. Currently I sell my time to an owner. The value I produce through my work is sold by the owner. Any excess after costs goes to the owner. The owner did not work to produce the value.
Why should owners be supported by the excess value produced by workers?
If there genuinely, no matter what, is no way to get someone to work on something without threatening them with starving to death if they don’t do it, please ask yourself this: Is that work necessary? Is that work worth it?

Well yeah. The left is associated with communism, which is basically “everyone is a slave to the state”. Leftists are inherently authoritarians.
That’s not really what communism is.
Neither left nor right is inherently authoritarian. Both contain authoritarian and libertarian ideologies.
Let’s take a second. How exactly would communism work? What if someone didn’t want to work?
