there are some killer shows from the 89 tours- this one at Hampton as well as the following night, Alpine Valley, Shoreline, Philly, I could go on and on listing tour dates lol. most people know of the Philly show I think because of the official release but that’s just scratching the surface of the heat they were bringing that year. I’m generally a late 60s-late 70s era fan but 89 was another peak for them for sure.
as long as you’re not sharing unsolicited Dick’s Picks I think you’re good to go ;)
man I have listened to 11/19/93 so many times lol, I remember sitting in my neighbors house trimming his homegrown weed with him years ago when he put that one on and I was just like holy shit man what show is this???
last I heard they were actively working on the script and I think a few other casting decisions had been made in addition to Jonah Hill. probably still a long way away from actually shooting the movie but apparently it’s typical of Scorsese to keep things in development this long while he works on other projects. I dont think the controversy over Jonah’s texts or whatever it is will effect the movie idk very much about that situation though
I am really enjoying this one, not sure I’d put it above GarciaLive 11 or 13, or the Kean College performance, but I think it’ll end up among my favorites after a few more listens
not a mobile app but Spicetify for desktop might have an extension that does what you’re looking for.
I just did a full wipe of my system to try out Fedora KDE, XFCE & Budgie spins (I finally got fed up with Gnome not being what I wanted anymore after like 15 years of using it as my preferred DE) and didn’t really have the same experience at all - even Fedora XFCE which you say was completely broken was working fine for me. I haven’t run anything other than Fedora in a long time though so I can’t really speak to the out of the box experience on other distros.
was just listening back to the show this morning actually and yeah, that Cumberland is killer
I was gonna try to hit Citi Field this week but sadly some stuff came up and I’m gonna be stuck at work
I might still do it if I have some free time this weekend
probably not my overall favorite but I’ve been enjoying 89 lately
Dead & Co is still fun, I saw them play a pretty solid All Along the Watchtower in Philly last year
I was looking a few days ago and didn’t find anything. thought about setting one up but I didnt wanna be responsible for too much of any of this ends up taking off lol.
yeah I know, it’s still missing kinda basic stuff like moderator tools (or if they’re there I can’t find them, which is another problem) and I find the overall UI less intuitive than the web app. I know it’s in the early stages and I’m not trying to shit on the app or devs in any way. just doesn’t seem like the best way to use the platform at the moment.
had no idea about this, I’ve been using it in the browser because Jerboa is clunky and still lacking a bunch of features, thanks for the tip
make good money five dollars a day!
I actually use archive.org for a lot of live concert recordings. bands like the Grateful Dead and Phish have been allowing/sort of encouraging fans to record and freely share their concerts for a long time and it’s all just out there to listen to and download as much as you want. there’s also the official streaming services like nugs.net and LivePhish for higher quality professionally recorded concerts, the subscription is kind of pricey but I think the artists get a better cut than on regular streaming services.
other than that I do use Spotify a bit and try to buy stuff on Bandcamp to support the artists when I can.
I’d have to agree, best Sugaree and best Mission in the Rain are def 2/28/80
that actually might be my favorite JGB show period, although it’s hard to choose between 11/11/93 (GarciaLive Vol. 11) and that one.
the app seems to be lacking quite a few features currently, I’m having a better experience using Lemmy in a web browser
definitely, the doom n gloom attitude on my city’s subreddit really bugs me actually. hoping when a Lemmy community for it pops up we can avoid that. but regardless it’s a great way to find out about local events or cool restaurants to try or just fun stuff that’s a little more off the beaten path
don’t sleep on the 3 night run at the Greek Theater too!
