Norway and Japan for me :)
Just your age ol’ ex-Reddit lurker… who also likes nuggets :)
Norway and Japan for me :)
Apparently, in 1990, it “was reprinted as The Complete & Uncut Edition. King restored over 400 pages of text that had been removed from his original manuscript, revised the order of the chapters, shifted the novel’s setting 10 years forward from 1980 to 1990, and accordingly corrected a number of cultural references.” according to Wikipedia.
I haven’t been able to put the book down but, I think I can see where young you was coming from. I’ve just got up to where a lot of stuff kicks off and that’s at least 600 pages in with 2200 odd left. The Shining is 447…
But, I absolutely loved The Shining and would recomend going to read the actual version of it, and not it’s strange much longer cousin, lol. It’s one of my favourites, along with Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman and Dissolution by C.J. Samson
Apparently, King went back and re-edited/revised The Stand to add things he liked and remove stuff he thought was pointless narrative, which made the book even longer.
I may also be reading a little slower to fully take in the words I’m reading. I think I have a habit of reading too fast and so I’m not really taking in a fuller picture of what I’m reading. So, not sure if that also factors in?
I’m still finishing up with Good Omens by Neil Gaiman, but I got a Kobo ereader recently and have started to read The Stand by Stephen King. I have 36hrs to go apparently!
Edit: The Stand and not The Strand.
the teams working on various Assassin’s Creed games are “part of the brand” and it’s important that all the studios are talking to each other to avoid “redoing work.”
Sounds like they are handicapped by the formulaic structure setup for the AC IP.
I guess it will be akin to previous releases, just more stealth focused again. Potentially.
I would love an AC game made similarly to the style of Dishonored or even Uncharted and the latest Tomb Raider games. Less focus of filling out huge maps and can focus on capturing a more intimate and immersive story that could heavily play into stealth and assasin mechanics.
Just my 5 cents though. A man can dream, lol.
2/2/2021 - A spring roll recipe…
I think they were okay. I used a recipe once that used chestnuts for texture and it was freaking amazing!
I’ve not been able to find the same recipe again.
Poor kittie, but very cute.
Sounds like she’s in good hands :)
That shot looks like a cross between a lemur and a langur type monkey xD
I’ve done something very similar, it’s great!
I’ve also had them without the flavouring plenty of times. Then, I’ve used the extra flavour pack for extra flavour when cooking them.
I’ve done this with chicken flavoured instant noodles. They seem to taste better “raw”.
There’s also a kids snack that was (might still be) Mamee noodles when I was a kid. They’re supposed to be a snack that was designed, I believe, to be eaten raw with the flavouring to be shaken in. At least that’s what we used to do.
(This is in Australia)
I used to dislike the taste of licorice. I used to eat the sweet bits from those licorice cubes my dad had when I was a kid and then throw away the licorice parts.
Don’t know when that changed, but I was on the way home with my old man (I may have been late teens/early 20’s?) and I was quite hungry. All he had in the car at the time was licorice and it was one of the most delicious things I ever had.
He sometimes playfully complains that he remembered a time when us kids never liked licorice or pepper and now we eat him out of a house.
My nan used to boil them and I loathed the smell and taste.
I had them for the first time last year since I was a kid and they were okay. I think they were sautéd in butter and some other stuff. Not as bad, but I still really dislike the smell and I could easily never eat them again xD
Does he have relationships with men and sex with women?
I imagine Helldivers would have seen a drop of in active players, but I imagine that was exacerbated by the PSN account requirement.
That was a fairly large PR disaster for Sony.
I didn’t know Waze was owned by Google either. Since 2013 as well…
Yeah, it’s definitely shifted that way. I just use them both interchangeably.
A little before I started using Reddit, my mate who told me about it said upvoting was used as a means of promoting posts or replies that people may be interested in, not because you like or dislike a post or reply.
I think Facebook has changed that and I will admit I will thumbs up a post/reply because I like it, but I will also upvote posts I think other users may be interested in.
I’m thankful our HR gave us notice when I was in Desktop Support.
The rare occasion we received short notice from HR or the general exec of our tech division was due to an immediate termination, and that was usually due to people not passing probation, or for egregious behaviour like sending 100s of GB to their personal email after they resigned and we’re in their notice period.
Or we once had a guy who was completely off the rails… we don’t know what happened exactly, but a user called up and he was having a manic episode and was convinced someone hacked his account/phone and was listening to him.
We raised it as a concern and a few weeks (maybe a month or so later) we were asked to terminate his account.
I heard he had stopped taking his meds. Hope he’s alright now… he was a nice fellow usually.
Thank you for your service
Apologies, it’s 1153 pages. It’s 2830 on the reader though. But, yes, he restored 400 pages that had originally been removed from the original.
I would like to read The Shining again. Maybe later this year, or next.
Enjoy :)
