As an Europan I can tell you, that the food in de US often tasted sweet to me. It’s like people in the US lost their taste buds for bitter and sour. There is no need to add sugar to every dish, especially bread. The other thing was the amount of fat in nearly everything. Salad? With a creamy sauce or tons of oil. Of course you have to add 400g meat AND a high calories cheese to it. Served with some sweet bread and it’s basically a burger in disguise. We were told that California was the healthy and rich state. If that was the healthy food, I’m starting to believe all those images on social media of fat dripping dishes.
In the end we cooked ourselves most of the time and payed the horrific price.

Imho ist das schlimmste, dass man trotz allen Verzögerungen am Hbf Stuttgart, immernoch andere abhängige Projekte anfasst als wäre alles im Plan. Die Gäubahn, die alles südlich von Stuttgart und östlich vom Schwarzwald anbindet wird für 7 Jahre unterbrochen, obwohl der Tiefbahnhof immernoch nicht fertig ist und oberirdische Gleise verfügbar sind. Die Unterbrechung sollte im übrigen ursprünglich nur wenige Monate andauern. Stattdessen wird so eine kleine Stadt wie Zürich aus Stuttgart nur noch via Karlsruhe & Basel erreichbar sein. Bei der Bahn rollen einfach nie genug Köpfe. Und ja ich habe für S21 gestimmt, wegen dem zugehörigen Ausbau des Fernzugverkehrsnetzes. Die Auslastung des Spätzle-Highways (A81) ist vorprogrammiert. Ich würde ja jetzt behaupten, der Ausbau auf 6 Fahrspuren ist nur eine Frage der Zeit, aber… B33 bei Konstanz. Drei gescheiterte Baupläne und 5 Jahre später wird jetzt ein dreispuriges Provisorium gebaut, bis jemandem etwas besseres einfällt. Seit Jahren fährt man Baustellenachterbahn und kann Erdhügeln beim Wandern zuschauen.

Mindestlohn. Egal ob Asylanten, Azubis, Minderjährige usw. Das Wort als solches sollte unser Staat endlich ernst nehmen.
Weiß jemand, ob die hier herangezogene Arbeitspflicht auch für Asylbewerber gilt, die explizit nicht arbeiten dürfen?
Ich habe das ganze Dilemma ja so verstanden, dass erst gearbeitet werden darf, wenn eine Asylerlaubnis besteht. Solang die Mühlen der deutschen Verwaltung mahlen, darf ein Asylbewerber nur Nase bohren, ob er/sie/they will oder nicht.
Was tut unser Bildungssystem um den Kindern beizubringen selbständig zu denken? Oder anders: Wie soll ein Jugendlicher bei Frontalunterricht, den er nicht zu hinterfragen hat, lernen Fake News zu erkennen? Wie erklärt man Schülern den Unterschied?
Sicher nicht über einen Elternabend, an dem sie nicht teilnehmen dürfen. Stattdessen wird entmündigend über sie gesprochen. Das ist nicht der Weg, wie man verantwortungsvollen Umgang mit Medien lernt. Quellenangaben, Studien und erlernen komplexe Vorgänge zu verstehen wäre schonmal ein Anfang.

In Göttingen sind die Mietpreise auch nicht so niedrig.
Ostdeutschland würde ich meiden, da eventuell die AfD in die Landesregierungen einziehen könnte dieses Jahr und ab da wird es politischer Mist. Erinnerung: In Deutschland haben die Bundesländer das Bildungssystem in der Hand. Sie bestimmen auch die Lehrpläne.
Mich hat Hildesheim positiv überrascht. Ansonsten ist im Ruhrpott jede Kleinstand super mit dem ÖPNV und anderer Infrastruktur angebunden. Als Metropolregion ist das Freizeitangebot top. Alte Industrieparks wurden begrünt und die Mieten sind je nach Ort erschwinglich. Mein Beispiel: Witten
Süddeutschland würde ich btw auch meiden. Entweder es ist schön & zu teuer oder zu viele Nazis.

I hope fo you, that your cat has enough sense to be afraid of cars. My Tequilas was more afraid of people than of cars. I also was never able to teach her anything on purpose. She learned to use the cat flap by observing her brother. Tequila was a very headstrong and strange kitty.
I’ve adopted her and her brother from a shelter, which insisted on letting them outside. Here in Germany a “Freigänger” (out-door) cat is considered a happier cat. Tequila herself was very happy and healthy outside for 2,5 years after living inside our flat for 4 years. Inside she was often scared and shy. Since she was allowed to go outside, she seemed a lot more confident and affectionate towards me. Too confident to savely cross the street to the neighbors garden. I knew the risk and I have to live with the consequences. Of course I’m not sure, that it was worth it, now. Sadly nothing will bring her back.
I’m resentful to people who have done me wrong. I avoid those people until they apologize to me or I’m told some kind of drama from there past, which explains their behavior. My behavior hurts me more then anybody else and I’m working on changing myself.
Other people often seem like they don’t acknowledge the good or bad stuff happening in another persons life. E.g. ignoring the daily strain a loved ones death leaves on somebody. They know it happened, but they expect the affected person to be fully functional.
