Fascist is a word with an actual meaning. I know it’s fun to call the democrats fascists, but that’s incorrect and ridiculous.

Now that you have Mint, next time you want to make a thumb drive for installing a distro all you have to do is plug in a thumb drive, right-click the .iso file, and select Make Bootable USB Stick. (or from the Menu choose Accessories ‣ USB Image Writer)
And here’s a nice intro to Mint for you. That site has lots of other helpful stuff too. Enjoy!
I prefer to watch videos via peertube, not youtube, whenever possible. She has a peertube channel so here is the same video there: https://tinkerbetter.tube/w/g8K2zBgwwwE1xukkT6EmSo
I gave up Ubuntu when they switched to the Unity desktop. ugh!
I’ve always said (jokingly since I’m an atheist) that Christians got it mixed up and thought Satan was God, so they’ve really been worshiping Satan all this time. They don’t want to admit they’re wrong about him being good, so they make up all kinds of excuses for all the horrible things he does. That’s why they were totally conditioned and ready to do the same with trump.
A stroke can definitely affect your speech, so some people may not pronounce their words as they did before. In some cases it might sound to others as if they have a “foreign accent”, especially if they can no longer pronounce some sounds like “th” or “r” well, which are also sounds that non-English speakers have trouble with.
As for suddenly being able to speak a language they never knew? No. I have heard of some people becoming more artistic or creative, but that could be from damage to other parts of the brain that previously inhibited that behavior.
“I think we have really reached the year of the Linux desktop with Linux Mint 21.3 – Virginia.”
And just in time, too–we’re almost at the end of the alphabet! ;-) (I’m also a Mint user, since 2014)
Before that you had to work until you died or couldn’t physically do it any more and starved.
Thank you, I came in to say that when I saw the title. Workers standing up for themselves is not “militancy” ffs. It’s advocacy. And what’s with that “Who’s next?” fear-mongering, sheesh.
Exactly. A third party that only puts up a candidate for President every four years is not a serious party but a joke. It takes years of work, starting with local and state offices, building support and good candidates, to be a serious alternative party with a wide base of support and chance to actually win national offices.
Unfortunately in this election (like last one and probably the next few elections at least), we don’t have the luxury of voting for who we most idealistically agree with, or making a protest statement. Fascism and authoritarianism are on the rise here (and in many other places). It has completely taken control of one of the two major parties, the Republican party.
The way our electoral system works, if we don’t vote for the only viable opposition, which is the Democrats, we are in danger of allowing an authoritarian regime to take over and toss democracy and our civil rights aside. Once democracy is lost it will take generations to get back, if ever. Trump in spite of everything, is the likely republican nominee (if not, someone just like him). See what would happen if he gets into office again here: https://www.cbc.ca/news/world/trump-2024-platform-so-far-1.6961527
That’s scary as hell. Despite people being unhappy with Biden or his age, he has accomplished a lot in spite of the odds, with republicans doing all in their power to stop him. See https://navigatorresearch.org/lowering-drug-prices-and-investing-in-infrastructure-are-most-popular-and-known-biden-accomplishments/
But the main point is that electing Biden (or whatever Democrat it may be if he doesn’t run for some reason) will prevent the authoritarian regime from taking power.
I think she’s upset because “Secretary of Transportation” has the word “Trans” in it and she got confused.
Fear of being primaried is certainly strong enough to get them to go along with almost anything, but since the rise of the Manchurian Cantaloupe it really has gone far beyond that to fear of literal violence against them and their families. They are thoroughly intimidated and under the control of the extremists.
Of course the threats and violence also extend to election workers, judges, government employees, etc. Remember what happened to Nancy Pelosi’s husband as just one example among many in the last few years.

Yes, and running for their lives and hiding from the mob.
No Republican senator has yet expressed public support for the resolution, and those viewed as most likely to vote “yes” say they would prefer to resolve the impasse in another way.
That’s because they’ll get death threats if they appear to cooperate with Democrats in any way. Just like we saw in the House and winding up with Gaetz’s choice of Mike Johnson for Speaker, Repub Senators are just as terrified to go against Mangolini’s magats.
It would be great if they would use this opportunity to make some other improvements for dogs, maybe better pathfinding, maybe even a set of new dog types with different colors and markings like cats have. And of course it would be fun to be able to dye or trim the dog armor too.
Personally I wish we could toggle the teleportation function on and off so we don’t have to keep them frozen in one spot all the time, and I think kids especially would love to be able to pet them (say by right-clicking while crouching with an empty hand) and get heart particles for that. Lots of possibilities and they do listen to feedback so users should advocate for what they would like to see.
I think adults underestimate just how many kids play Minecraft, how much they like the pets and how excited they were about dog armor. So it’s not surprising that the armadillo won and I don’t think it’s worth getting upset about. That’s just how voting works, someone wins and someone loses. I was just glad that I was finally able to vote at all starting last year, since before that you had to have a Twitter account to vote which left so many people out.
I do agree that we aren’t given enough information about each one to make a proper decision on which to vote for, but that also gives them flexibility on how it gets implemented, allowing user feedback to have an influence.
No, those are not part of the definition of fascism.
Try this link and this one to start, if you want to educate yourself on the topic. Then if you still believe the Democratic Party fulfills the definition of fascist, come back and tell us which characteristics you think makes it so.
