Since the light actually passes through the glasses and just gets refracted, there’s no screen in front of your eyes. It’s like looking through water, a window or anything else translucent/transparent.

Tungsten. It’s just so cool that it’s so dense and has such a high melting point. It’s also really hard and tough.
Edit: also dragonflies are pretty badass
Soulseek
No shit
I switch between New, Hot and Top 6hrs/Day
You could make a religion out of this
I would say: “Don’t switch to Linux. Just start with Linux and never use Windows or Mac in the first place”
Don’t have to get used to something if you’ve never used something else.
Pine64 makes a security camera for use with a (included?) Raspberry Pi, iirc
When they have some of the same interests as you, but for different reasons. It provides for excellent conversation when you can talk about something you’re both passionate about, but because you’re passionate for different reasons, you have different perspectives, and it keeps a topic you’re very familiar with very interesting.
Woke has got to be one of the most meaningless words out there. So many things are labeled as being “woke”. From left-wing to right-wing, from progressive to conservative, it’s genuinely insane.
Can you please define what you mean by “woke”? (Funnily enough, most people that regularly use the word “woke” can’t even properly explain what it means)
(Not directly answering your question but) if it works like a VPN service then yeah. However, P2P connections might not be routed through TOR in that case. Be careful about that
Don’t speak the language but 100% agree
Oh, okay, gotcha
If I’m not mistaken, the mobile mail client does this. I remember there being a button at the top of the email to add the event to Proton Calendar
yes.
What’s with these headlines? What’s next? “How CO₂ may be influencing climate change”?
We’ve known this for more than 50 years. If policy makers won’t start making fossil fuels adequately expensive (which they won’t), nothing will change.
Mastodon, Kbin, Lemmy and such are “compatible”.
Here’s an example of how to do it:
Definitely. I got a T470s that had barely been used for business purposes on eBay for 100€. It’s a great machine. Lots of I/O, great IPS touchscreen, great backlit keyboard, great trackpad, great build quality, awesome form factor, good battery life (about 6-8 hours). If you need a cheap laptop, get a used ThinkPad. They’re the best bang for the buck imo
Ivan Pavlov was a Russian physiologist. During his studies, he observed that dogs would begin to salivate whenever an assistant entered the room, even if no food was present. Pavlov realized that the dogs had learned to associate the presence of the assistant with the arrival of food. He then conducted experiments where he would ring a bell or sound a metronome immediately before presenting the dogs with food. Over time, the dogs learned to associate the sound with the food, and would begin to salivate in response to the sound alone, even without the presence of food. This research on dogs became an iconic example of classical conditioning and the comic references this.
