Everyone isn’t addicted to social media, it’s about learning to set clear boundaries. My wife has IG and a few times a week we’ll watch reels on her phone before bed. We have a few laughs together and spend ten minutes on it tops. I consider it quality time and actually look forward to it.

I think it’s rather that current forms of capitalism are ‘fundamentally labor replacing’ with AI being the most effective tool to accomplish that goal.
Who’s they? A population of 300 million people? The USA is large and diverse, it can’t be simplied in the way you’re describing just like the EU couldn’t. Social media and meme propaganda doesn’t represent a country and it’s people.
