Edit: Works fine with my vger.social account. Looks like shit on lemmy.world.
Edit 2: Looks like shit on sh.itjust.works and lemmy.world. Which are both running very outdated 0.19.3. Looks great on feddit.org, vger.social, lemm.ee which are running up to date version of Lemmy (0.19.5).

You can long press any part of the post that doesn’t have the image, or press the ellipsis as someone else mentioned.
Long pressing the image triggers the default Android behavior.
np. I thought about it, but I struggled to find a solution that didn’t increase the complexity of the UI for users brand new to fediverse/lemmy. The #1 priority of the login/signup flow is straightforward UX, and I am willing to sacrifice usability of power users for that.
One of my pet peeves with fediverse signup and login flows in general is information overload.
Yes sign in without username/pw.
It will show top communities including federated though (I have plans to filter by top local-only communities), but you can still view the local feed etc!
Voyager has guest accounts. Just sign in without username/pw
Probably because Sync on your phone is connecting/downloading directly from Imgur, which is bad for privacy. Voyager uses the image cached on your instance, if possible, to avoid connecting to arbitrary hosts to load images when browsing your feed.
