I’m an amateur endurance cyclist, and during peak summer riding, I can eat junk food all day (literally from 5 am to midnight, multiple times an hour) and still end up in a calorie deficit.

It’s actually really hard to gain weight when you’re active, and those junk foods are very common with anyone who does endurance sports (or really any sport that requires high-calorie input over a sustained period). This is why sports nutrition products are basically pure sugar with some electrolytes sprinkled in there.

The problem is that people are eating junk food (jet fuel for our bodies) as if they were athletes. If you’re sitting on your ass all day and pounding back 4000 calories of junk food, yeah, you’re going to be fat.

Now, are those healthy foods? Absolutely not. But if you view food as fuel and nutrition, you can have a healthy relationship with “junk food”, too.

Please, someone uninstall this version of the game!

To that note, anyone have any idea how to get Hyper Backup to stop telling me that my backups are “partial” because Video Station is no longer found? It’s not even on the list of apps, but tells me that it’s been disabled as an option to back up because it’s not available. Annoying!

What’s your calorie deficit per day? If it’s too much, you’ll constantly feel like you’re starving.

If you reduce your calories by only around 200 or so per day, the weight will come off in a controlled way, but without feeling like you’re not eating enough.

I lost around 30lbs earlier this year using a combination of calorie deficit and cycling. On long days riding, I’d often end up thousands of calories short, even while eating as much as I could. I never felt like I was hungry during those few months needed to reach my goal.

And the weight has stayed off.

I also used the advice found in Dr. Greger’s “How not to diet”, the audiobook version.

These people don’t want other people to live better lives, they only want a better life for themselves. And the only way to get there is to quite literally either kill other people or make their lives unlivable.

Someone who’s willing to die or be put in jail “to stop the jews” or whatever bullshit they subscribe to, doesn’t give a damn about universal healthcare or a woman’s reproductive rights.

On the flip side, they aren’t voting for a guy who will improve their lives (not in the way you and I would view as an improved life). They are voting for a guy who will make OTHER PEOPLE’S LIVES miserable. Because that’s how their world view works.

Unless you want Democrats to do the same, they are on completely different wavelengths.

How do you “appeal” to future domestic terrorists when they believe it’s their calling to tear down everything good in society?

I’m not trying to be sarcastic or dramatic, but they are drawn to Trump because he embodies all the horrible things they aspire to become.

How can a political party that speaks of equality and justice even possibly make a connection with them? It sounds nice, but how would it happen without making your current base feel like you only want to help the worst behaved?
