But from my experience most python scripts are absolute junk. The barrier for entry is low so there’s a massive disparity in quality.

.io domains aren’t going anywhere. There are too many of them to safely migrate in a reasonable timeframe and too much core infrastructure is tied to them.

Both GitHub and Rust use .io for core infrastructure.
