  • I’m trying to find people to talk to. I’m not trying to push any opinion or agenda. My child is having issues. I don’t believe that just affirming them will solve their deep rooted problems, but I’m willing to have a back and forth with people who have had both success and failure with that approach. I want a place where I can speak honesty and not have people start calling me dishonest or saying I have some agenda or I’m trying to push some kind of politics.

I guess I’m looking for a sort of Alanon type environment, where people can share their experiences without judgement. I don’t mind if someone says they think I’m wrong and are willing to share their experience to back up their statement. I actually would welcome it.

If I were looking for confirmation bias, then that would be easy. What I’m looking for is a real and honest discussion with people who have dealt with this issue, both personally and professionally.

  • It’s typical of the way he speaks coming from a salesman and promoter background. He says a lot that can’t be argued with because there’s really nothing there to argue. He also has a confidence and structure around the words that allows people to read things into what he’s saying. People supporting him will see him as saying what they believe and people against him will see him saying the opposite of what they believe. In reality, he didn’t say anything of substance, but he managed to get both sides worked up. It’s very fascinating to see both supporters and opposers get so emotional over things being said that have absolutely no substance. It’s a great study in tribalism, group think, and general psychology.

  • Which is what happens when you put the government in charge of your food. Joseph Stalin, Mao Zedong, and Hugo Chávez, among many others, all starved millions of people to death. Many Americans are scared to give the government too much power. Unfortunately, the government finds a way to seize that power anyway. I’m sure they’ll find a way to control the food supply. The only thing people can do is oppose it at every turn. Everything evil that the government does is cloaked in altruism, and compassion. Some people see through that cloak. It’s a shame that more people don’t see through it.

I’m amazed at how many people look at the US as an evil invading power, and then wonder why the American people don’t want to let the government take more control over their daily lives. We see what they are doing all over the world, and we sure as hell don’t want it here. The US government is filled with the most evil and corrupt people this society has to offer. The fact that anyone would support anything those bastards do, or want to do, is beyond me.
