  • Make sure you get one of the professional ones. In fsct when i got the first one, i went to a beauty supply store that caters to hairstylists and barbers, as opposed to going to Walmart. Not sure if it is/was bullshit, but I had heard that Walmart gets lower quality units (not unlike the claims that the TVs sold on Black Friday are poorer quality compared to regular ones). Both of mine were made in US.

Just a heads up, you can buy new blades for fairly cheap. On my old unit I replaced the blades maybe 10 years into owning it. I think because of how the blades are shaped, sharpening them might not really be possible. But I could be wrong.

    never bought

I’d call them a lying sack of shit, quite honestly, because the best marketing is subliminal and can create a desire that you might not notice for a while or in a different environment. You don’t have to click on an ad or immediately jump on Amazon to be affected by marketing. But the fact that you might remember the name of a certtain product when you go to the store and buy that type of cereal or simply yearning for a certain type of phone or shoes or car means that marketing is indeed working on that person.

  • Love how people are confusing salaries or yearly income to net worth.

Net worth is the total accumulated value of all the stuff you own (value of assets minus the liabilities) - houses, cars, investments, etc. That is massively different than what you are getting paid each year which is what a lot of people here are using as a metric.

It isn’t out of the question for someone to make “only” $100 or 200k/year and be considered a “millionaire” by most people’s definition. They might be older and have paid off their house. That house might be worth $500k and all the other stuff they own is a few hundred thousand more. Plus maybe $100k in some investment portfolio. Thus making them technically a millionaire. There are a lot more millionaires out there than people realize, including some people here or their parents or maybe grand parents.

That’s not to take away from the argument that billionaires have too much money, but at least phrase the movement correctly. Stop equating someone making $50k/year with someone’s who’s assets are worth $1B. That’s comparing apples to oranges and not just by the sheer difference in the numbers either.

  • The big questions that no one is asking:

Why did it take so long to get him for fraud? They specifically mentioned that this was while he was building his real estate empire. He’s been doing that since the 80s. Why the fuck did it take some 4 decades to build up a big enough case against him?! Why wasn’t he previously investigated? Why weren’t any of our useless news agencies digging into his finances? He ran for fucken president, for fucks sakes… why couldn’t all this mess have been avoided if various news departments and law enforcement agencies did their damn jobs.

The most egregious thing about all this is that if he didn’t run for president, probably none of this criminal activity would ever have really come to light. District attorneys and news rooms across the country would have just let all this slide. Which then makes you wonder - how many other billionaires are there out there who are nearly as corrupt as Trump, but because they don’t lavish the media attention, they keep low and none of us know about them. Why aren’t those people being investigated? Why does it take decades to go after these asswipes and only when they purposefully shine the light on themselves?

  • Wahl hair trimmer. No nonsense hair trimmer. Made in the US. Corded so don’t have to worry about batteries failing. Been using it every couple of weeks for probably close to 15 years and only recently replaced it with another Wahl trimmer. Got my money’s worth out of the first one many times over and would highly recommend it. I expect the new one to last a similar amount of time.

    Yandex

What is Yandex? I searched and got this:

Yandeks, IPA: [ˈjandəks]) is a Russian multinational technology company providing Internet-related products and services, including an Internet search engine called Yandex Search, launched in 1997, information services, e-commerce, transportation, maps and navigation, mobile applications, and online advertising.

Now I feel I am on some government watchlists for searching that.

  • blame it on the consumer

Yeah. Blame it on the consumers indeed. Are you a adult or not? Put the tendies down and put your big boy pants on and realize that you need to take responsibility for at least some of your actions.

Same goes for all those dopes that pre-order every game that gets released and then we all wonder why the industry releases so many unfinished games that need patches and updates. That’s because consumers are rewarding these game developers for releasing shitty software.
