Did you read? What are you reading?
Did you read? What are you reading?
That sounds tough. You are putting some good strategies in place for yourself though, I hope it gets better!
So I am leaving my job and this is my last week. I am 2nd in charge, but my manager has taken this week off. So I am acting manager for this last week and did not get a handover for the work. So I am spending my last week trying to manage it all and catch up of the work that was left hanging as well as my own. I also catch 3 trains to get to work over an hour away (one of the reasons for leaving) and today my train was delayed mid way for an hour because the police needed to remove a passenger. I also had to submit a 32 page report to exit a staff member who has literally been getting paid to do criminally negligent work. I’m tired. But my staff are great. I am at a train station now and I miss my dog.
Probably a few times a week.
I didn’t realise this was a thing.
I am here. I managed to not return to Reddit, and now would only go there to look up something specific, and not as a signed up member. I make do with Lemmy. I am hoping it grows too.
I think in a lot of cases they would have been looking out for the signs of one coming and moved to higher/safer areas. They would have passed around knowledge on how to cope, and especially focus on survival and rebuilding later on. I wish I knew more. But I don’t think they cared as much for the destruction of their structures as they would for moving the community elsewhere to survive the storm and rebuild.
My medication. Lithium in small exactly precise doses according to each individual is helpful. But we have to take blood tests to check the toxicity.
We have to stay hydrated and be really careful if we are sick or vomiting
A warning signs is shaking (I tests my hands regularly), nausea and outcome is dying. Ha.
Yes, I do.
I enjoy handwriting and it is much faster for me. I like to have a couple of different coloured pens and have it organised. Usually I just end up with a scribbled mess but that is okay. At least only I can read it. If I need to I will type it up afterwards - I love typing as well.
Rooahroo opera singing mostly, which means “You’re home you’re home you came hooome muuuuuuuum!” And further rooarraows which means in a singsong voice “A WALK a WALK we are going a walk!” Soft aroos mean “I love you” Various tones of low roo sounds mean she needs me to notice something, to warn me about something, or wants me to open a door or is not feeling well.
Other talking includes letting me know about the other dogs around us and whether or not they are safe and friendly. We have big conversations about this. There’s also “I’m sleepy, I’m doing a big yawn mum look” There’s the obvious danger growl. Sometimes she’ll tell me about how comfortable she is, or will soon be. We properly talk and have conversations, she is very good at expressing herself. Or I understand her well. Both.
Chocolate brownie and salted caramel, or chocolate and peanut butter. Or maybe white chocolate boysenberry.
It can be a lot more difficult to develop and maintain good friendships as an adult. You really need a longstanding topic to bond over. When you are younger you have education and daily interaction to bring you together.
I’ve found that to build friendships you really need to do something, enjoy something together and do it with some regularity. This is why joining a group where there is already a joint focus is recommended.
It is a bit of putting yourself out there and it can feel really lonely, I know.
It is beautiful there.
…The fact that people need this pointed out to them is concerning.
That’s lovely!
Hey, that’s fantastic! Well done for leaving drinking behind, it is a really tough time. What kind of film project are you working on?
…what movie is that?
