Due to the way Lemmy is set up and how people subscribe to communities, if you want something to have a wide reach, you need to post it multiple instances of the same community. Similarly, if you’re trying to gauge, as I am, which of the 7 different “tech” subs or “news” subs actually has community engagement, you need to post to all of them. Interestingly, with the news subs, the ones with more comments are not consistent and not always the ones I expected. Also, the type of engagement varies from community to community so it’s pretty interesting seeing how different people in different instances react to the same article.
