Interesting people still don’t understand the paradox of tolerance or fascism and anti-fascism. They are this close to loosing their democracy but think there won’t be any political violence from the fascists.

The culture war, you know, the one where a lot of folks think it’s great we have things like birth control and public transportation and stuff.

And then a few other folks that think -basically, boiled down the real truth of it- that everyone that isn’t a white male should be a slave to white males.

Obviously the best way to fight this is education, which a particular side has been hellbent on destroying, and considering what I was taught in public school, has been pretty effective about it.

Does it get to their wet dream of wantonly murdering folks in the street like they fantasize about? Well, we lost more people on our side in the 2020 protests than they did.

Probably something to with believing people are humans, and should be treated with dignity.

So get some goddamn guns and go to the range. I’d rather have it and not need it, and know how to fucking use it

Once again, I understand the best way to win is education. My short patience and compassion is entirely spent on people near me, so if you can go around teaching ignorant morons right from wrong please do. They already know. Their in-group lets them get away with it

hi. welcome to western civilization. you see, there’s been this struggle going on for some time now between altruism and narcissism, aka conservatism and liberalism, aka leftist vs. right wing, and in the last few decades it’s gotten pretty heated (it’s done this before) and so yeah… the future of civilization is kinda hanging in the balance so maybe it’s time for you to realize that:

                  IT’S A WAR. PICK A FUCKING SIDE.

This is not a left-right, one group vs another group, fascism against democracy argument. This is a well documented moral and philosophical conclusion that you don’t give tools like these to a governing body or organization. The targets and terminology always get corrupted by bad-faith actors over time. You would not have control over how this information gets used nor the validity if someone just “placed” a sign for the photo so they would be targeted.

You are self-reporting to a system that has the ability to become oppressive, use your time more wisely if you wish to promote a good cause. https://go.kamalaharris.com/ has remote volunteering with phone banking etc and has training you can take and local events if that’s your shtick.

You realize this information is all freely and publicly available? A tool to be safe from fascists being abused by bad actors is still a tool to be safe from fascists. I’m not responsible for the actions of bad actors because I supported a tool. If I am, then based on your recommendation of helping VP Harris’s campaign, doesn’t that make you responsible for the genocide she is actively supporting? Also, please do not assume that I am anti-Democrat or pro anything. I am anti-fascist. Do not assume I’m not calling/donating/volunteering. This is just one facet of trying to help.

Why can’t fascists use this tool to network with each other?

Also, it would be more effective to have a map of rapists and dangerous men imo. I could and would contribute significantly to that type of list. A lot of wealthy men who are rapists are also white supremacists. I don’t think I’ve ever been sexually assaulted by someone who WASN’T revealed to be racist.

The link was one example of something you can link as actually helpful and not detrimental to the democratic process. Making lists of political opponents (and especially citizens) is a fascists move, you’re using the tools of the master to try and take down the house. If you support a tool being abused by bad actors, you need to look into that tool. Just because you’re ignorant of the situation doesn’t mean you aren’t complicit.

If you get on the internet and go find a comment section that has a couple hundred comments, you can always say that it’s a dumpster fire. Some people are lazy, some people are trolling, some people are addressing concerns that you don’t understand because they didn’t frame it with enough background.

I think you have several options in a situation where it seems like the comments are a disaster. You could download and walk away, you could comment about how it’s a dumpster fire and walk away, or you could throw in something a little bit constructive. I recommend the first or the third, unless you feel like you’re in a trolling mood, and then do whatever you want.

I associate it with trying to bring Christ into politics. For example, see this group’s mission statement.. I’ve not dug into it much more than that, just enough to know it’s currently a right-wing whistle and I ought to avoid anyone currently enamored with it. My local church only started displaying it after Justice Alito’s wife caused a stir by flying it.

Im trans and I have multiple trump people in my neighborhood. My partner and I have agreed us putting up either pride flags or Harris signs would simply make ourselves targets since we live in a red state and county. I don’t want people like this to put me on a list so they can come and attack the house if their fascist leader comes into power. Something that while they would want to do, I’m not positive they’d actually have the guts to do.

May I suggest you take up learning a martial art?

Not sure what they’re like in your area, but when I learned Karate as a kid in the 90s/00s, everyone was treated according to their skill level and discipline, gender/sex is irrelevant (beyond cups for guys and thick sports bras for gals).

Its not likely to make you bullet proof, but it does stand a decent chance at bettering your physical and mental health, give you more options when a gun is not part of the scenario.

Also, I would second the notion of going to a range and signing up for basic pistol and rifle familiarization, as well as basic medical training, unless you legitimately are totally terrified of firearms or have some kind of trauma or PTSD related to them.

Such courses usually provide you with firearms for the course, you don’t own them or take them home, they stay at the range. You just learn the basic principles of operation and safety and shooting technique, under hopefully an extremely serious couple of range masters who will hopefully teach you to treat all guns as if they are loaded until you have personally verified they are not, and to never, not even accidentally, point the barrel of a gun at something you do not intend to destroy.

You don’t need to go buy a gun first and not trust yourself with it.

In fact usually a novice shooter is going to want to experiment a bit with different calibers and guns with differing grip styles and weight distributions untill you find something comfortable to shoot.

Martial arts and guns can give people a false sense of security. Who wants to devote a huge portion of their life to preparing for personalize warfare? LARPers live for that crap. On the other hand, it is wise to have a method of self defense as a normal life plan.
The absolute best defense is avoidance whether getting away or even moving your place of residence. There are many places where people aren’t bat-shit crazy.
Forget martial arts if someone has deadly intentions. Get a short shot gun and learn safety and security first. Then learn your firearm very intimately, both how it works and how to use it so well that muscle memory is instinctive. Then, learn how to set a trap where you have the advantage even if you aren’t super proficient. Most of all watch this short video.

I’m a paranoid sort. If I paraded a quarter of the signs, flags, offensive bumper stickers, et. al., of some of my neighbors in my red state, I would just expect that my property would be vandalized, my family threatened, my life endangered. I’m intentionally avoiding showing up on any “lists” that might be composed regarding people from different tribes. It’s not right that this is a problem, but it is reality.

Two of our (gay couple) neighbors said something similar to me a while back: They’re too afraid to put up a sign or flag.

My house doesn’t have any LGBTQ people living in it but we have a HUGE fucking LGBTQ flag right across from the American flag. It’s been such a blessing too! Now the most annoying of my neighbors don’t try to smalltalk with me anymore about their absolutely batshit insane conspiracy theories 👍
