I have never encountered a single smoker who understands that the Heat/AC unit built into the wall of a hotel room is actually a giant hole that pulls air and smoke into it.
I frequently have hotel rooms where some marijuana smoker is smoking outside their room and then suddenly my whole room fills up with weed smell.
Also, I have been at red lights and the person next to me is smoking and then my car fills up with the smell of weed. It happens if the windows are open or with the Heat or AC on.
I actually believe the government shouldn’t regulate what we do with our bodies but the since marijuana smokers cannot be considerate of other people they shouldn’t have the right to take away others rights.
Not any more than you have a right to not have anyone else have a conversation near your hotel room.
Smells you personally dislike aren’t something you get to ban anyone else from enjoying.
Come on! A conversation cannot be something you can compare to marijuana smoke. I have noise canceling headphones that I can put on if noises are too loud. I also have earplugs. What am I going to do when my whole hotel room smells like weed?
The point is consideration. The point is that non-smokers have rights too. The point is that smokers are quick to tell “Fuck you, if you don’t like it because I have the legal right to smoke” while not even considering that someone else has a right to not smoke and breathe unpolluted air.
Farts are way worse than weed smoke. Can we work on the big issues first and tackle public farts?
It is the same. It’s not your property. You don’t get to dictate what other people do nearby.
Marijuana is just one of many smells you are very likely to be exposed to if you get a hotel room in a populated area, and it’s far more pleasant to many than a lot of the alternatives.
You disliking a smell does not give you ownership of the whole surrounding area.
