Is there any option to add scroll momentum and/or increase speed? Scrolling feels just a little “stuck” compared to other apps.
Scroll momentum seems to work on my end, although I’m brand new to the app so it’s possible it was added in the latest 0.33 release maybe?
There is some momentum but it seems very weak compared to, say, RIF or Firefox. I think the app would feel nicer if scrolling deep pages was a little easier.
I’m on .33 and agree with OP scrolling feels a little stuttery and stops abruptly when my finger comes up. I have a low end phone from last year, but text and images never give me any issues even with a full cache.
I agree that the scrolling feels a bit “stiff”. It also seems to only load a few posts at a time. This causes the app to hit the bottom of the page and then load more. It makes things feel a little off.
Mobile dev here: the problem seems to be low and inconsistent framerate, i.e. “jank”, which messes up the scroll timings and results in weird scroll speed and momentum.
To my eye it looks like the app is doing too much work while generating each element in the list - posts, comments, etc. This is common during early development phases when you’re trying to get thing in first, and then address the performance bottlenecks.
