Vot and what it stands for are the villan/pessimist of the story. What the original comment is refering to as the “point of the show” is really the shows “theme” or message. The villan/pessimist being evil wouldnt be the theme of the story. Its been a while since I watched it last so i dont want to incorrectly say what my take on what the theme is in the show but an example would be something like the theme of the show is
