    That was a better read than expected. It sounds like the US response would be akin to that of its covid response - give the reins to the market. I agree with the conclusion that military forces of some sort would almost certainly be deployed to manage the crisis. It all sounds like a recipe for disaster to me.

    This isn’t really the topic of the article, however since people are discussing it: No person is an island and community is the most valuable resource, but a well-stocked dry pantry and a plan for clean drinking water can go a long way. Of course that still leaves heat/cold to deal with which can be a serious challenge. But for your sake and your community’s sake, it helps to reduce the burden by not being the first to become desperate when a crisis occurs (if possible). Outside aid rarely comes fast enough for those who are affected by disasters.
