I am so excited to open source Notesnook this month! This blog will give you a clear idea about why we are open sourcing, what we aim to accomplish & how you can help.
I simply want an offline use (backup/restore). My data must to be storable on a usb dongle. A backup like notesnook.zip with local encryption for backup file. Nothing else I ask. I don’t need/want my data in cloud server. Not even if it were my own.
It asks to create an account to use backup/restore feature. I don’t like this.
Apparently they also plan to open a self-hostable sync server this month.

just use org-mode with Emacs and Orgzly then.
The entire shtick of this is that the server communication of it is e2e encrypted. If you don’t want server syncing why are you even considering this?
This would be what I’m waiting for.
