Hell yeah, refurbished is awesome!
Reduce, refurb, recycle!
I suspect Valve is truly refurbishing these, rather than blindly reselling returned units with a refurb label (as we sometimes see from certain retailers). Good for them!
Portable, Windows-free gaming just got more affordable. I love it.
And they come with the same warranty coverage as the regular steam deck, which should make them safer to buy than most refurbished products.
Less waste is good!
Damn, I just bought one of these too XD
This is such a good deal I feel like I’d be losing money by not getting these lol
I already have one, but now I’ll have to buy another to save money
If you buy 10 you’ll save even more. It’s like getting your steam deck for free! Hah, valve must be stupid or something, they’re giving steam decks away!
That’s actually pretty cool.
Really does look like a tempting deal. Also covered here https://www.theverge.com/2023/8/8/23824739/valve-steam-deck-certified-refurbished-price-listings
Man, they are still not selling them in Norway, so only one shop has them as a “special import”, and it cost 827GBP for even the 64GB version lol.
Oh well, not as if it is that useful for me since I am usually at home almost all the time after work anyways. I have barely even used the Nintendo Switch’s portable mode.
What do people even do with 64GB? There’s a lot of games that wouldn’t even fit on that by themselves.
I use mine mostly to play older games that cant be alt tabbed easily. Playing through Morrowind with the OpenMW engine lately, for example. Also been doing a lot of Yakuza 0. I have a 64 GB SD card as well though.
I got my valve cosmos elite refurbished, 200 bucks off. I love to buy refurbished so much, often it is hard to find.
Normally I am hesitant about refurbs, but Valve is one company I trust would stand by their product. Pretty good deal. I’d probably pick it up if I didn’t have my pre-order unit.
That is great news. This could make moding a steamdeck a bit more buget friendly. Would love to know if this option is avalible in the eu (nl) I wouldn’t mind getting a refurbishd steam if it’s cheaper
