You missed the opportunity to say “ManageMint”!

That app is cancer. Just stop using it.
That looked like such a miserable experience for everyone involved. What a stupid location.
I agree with this assessment completely. Especially after the pre-race talks about working as a team to keep the Ferrari’s at bay. I was almost expecting what you described after seeing Lewis on the softs and how much of a short term advantage they offered yesterday.
The argument I have heard being lockdowns (moreso the duration of them) put extensive pressure on small business to shut down but allowed the large corporations to remain open, creating an effective monopoly. This created a situation where governments had also had to assist with those shortfalls so folks can survive. To do that, they increased the monetary supply which in turn devalues the currency. This causes the inflation which makes things more expensive. The government then gives out more money…and the cycle repeats.
Now, I’m not an economist but it sounds pretty logical to me. I know it came down to saving lives and I’m in support of doing that. But could we have done things in a way that didn’t put an entire generation 10 years behind? That’s a conversation worth having if you ask me.
Man, I wish I had this kind of spare time.
You can swap sides and this still applies.
Correct. It does seem that many of the COVID measures did come at the expense of the quality of life for citizens. Upward mobility feels like a pipe dream now. I’m glad I didn’t have to make the decisions about lockdowns and spending because that’s not an easy choice.
I just think those in opposition may have had some valid points that were dismissed as insensitive or heartless by those who will, now, never be able to afford a house. That sort of stuff. It’s a shame we can’t talk without devolving into “your team is evil” rhetoric any longer.
Ya, I would tend to agree and left out the context. It’s not our only URL filtering tool, we have a full proxy and URL rewrite in email for that but it does help fill in gaps when people click links from devices we don’t manage.
I think in many cases it’s because the opposing side spends time creating lists like this explaining how dumb the other side is. Nice work counting to 12, BTW.
I didn’t realize we were only discussing the batshit crazy theories. Plenty of people had some ideas that were laughed at as conspiracy during COVID times but look pretty reasonable in hindsight. That’s all I’m driving at.
The MS security feature does work quite well (at least for Enterprise).
The one about printing a huge amount of money causing runaway price increases seems like it ended up pretty true.
This is the tough pill to swallow that everyone is indeed avoiding.
Seriously, I’m feeling really nice about where I’m living.
I don’t understand how you’re gonna have a good sense of community when you share 1sq mile with millions of others in a large city. What percentage of people can you even engage in friendly banter with? The community we have in our modest sized town is so amazing, my wife and I talk about how grateful we are to live here.
Our kids can walk to a dozen different houses where they can play. We are close enough with all those families that we could drop the kids with any of them if we needed to. There are tons of parks and great recreational sports activities to be outside.
I do respect others who choose to live all crammed on top of each other. I love the culture that big cities offer. I just couldn’t live there, it’s too impersonal.
We only block security threats. If people wanna fuck off and do nothing all day, that’s an HR problem. ;)
Not wealthy nor in a wealthy area but I live in a pretty densely populated state so I just don’t see it. Even convenience store jobs pay $18-20/hr here.
I’ve been working since 14 and that may have been the only year I made the minimum wage too. I don’t generally look at this sort of data so thank you for sharing your anecdotes!
Had the displeasure of dealing with McKinsey as they performed the legal equivalent of extortion under the guise of “public health” during COVID. Crazy just how deep their tendrils go when it comes to steering public funds and policy.
