They must have done what some manufacturers do where they add a hunk of iron that has no purpose other than to make their products feel heftier lol
West Virginia was also a labor union hotspot during the 20th century. Were even willing to take up arms against the mine companies when they started getting labor organizers murdered and miners were dying by the hundreds in purposely shitily operated mines to increase profits.
Nowadays. They seem to do everything possible to please the mine companies even if it screws them over.
The 20th century saw the myth of the “Middle Class” take hold and for a while, a handful of people were convinced they were higher up on the totem pole over other workers. We are just seeing things returning to the status quo of before then.
