I think CDPR has always been what it is now. Just that nowadays people enthusiastically jump on the internet bandwagon, whatever direction it might be, positive or negative.

That is to say, it’s the same as Owlcat. Initially buggy, but amazing and GOTY after patches. People always forget that Witcher 3 was a mess when it came out, as was Witcher 1. There was a big deal about the fact that CDPR made their big content/bug fixes updates for free with Witcher 1.

It’s not that, it’s storing the excess energy and converting it to heat, and that heat is then transferred to homes and thus reducing the use of electricity in the winter. Most of the electricity usage of Finland is in heating during winter. So using excess to store heat is a great idea, and using existing infrastructure to boot.

But as someone who studied AI and LISP (which was mired in the previous AI craze), it’s not actually wrong to have animosity and be skeptical about the current AI. we’re literally using the same techniques than we did 30 years ago. We’ve invented nothing new since the last AI fad. What is driving this craze is the brute force approach of massive parallel processing, not actual innovation.

So, yes it’s more than just “Americans dumb”, but everything points to the fact that US is rotten to the core, and lack of gun control is definitely part of the problem. Poverty, inequality, police violence, lack of social programs (because fuck commies, fam) and so forth… But while it’s not unique to US, it’s definitely typical US problem.

That’d be more meaningful if Bethesda had ever managed to create a story with any worth. Sometimes the bones of a decent story are there, but the execution is usually amateur hour.

Just curious, is it a slur or a contraction? Like calling Finnish as “Finn” or Aboriginals as “Abo”? I mean, I’m Finnish and I don’t find the Finn as insulting. Not that I actually have a horse in this race but to me it sounded like a contraction of a word rather than a slur.

I have to disagree heavily. RDR2, and GTA5 are completely unreactive and uncaring of the player. That’s been my problem with all Rockstar games from the start.

The closest thing to reactive stuff in RDR2 is the goddamn annoying timer that looks at “how long since last player interaction” and if it’s been too long, it’ll throw at you one of a ten or so random events (woman with a horse, prison escape, etc) to make sure you are engaged.

Rockstar have this thing with their games, there is lots of freedom to do shit that doesn’t matter, and there is a B movie inside the game. Never shall the two meet. The gameplay is doing random shit in GTA, and the story is extremely fixed missions with very specific actions you do as you play through this B movie.

Other than progressing the plot, nothing changes in the world. Nothing you do in Rockstar games matter, unless it happens inside this B movie.

I mean, isn’t this like something that Rockstar was criticized for like ten years ago? Cyberpunk 2077 is not as reactive as you’d like, but it’s at least on par with Rockstar games.

Whether the NPCs react as well, I can’t really argue about since I don’t remember GTA, et al, well enough.
