With the German Pirate Party loosing its seat a strong voice against surveilance is lost.
They also supplied NGOs with information directly from the legislative process, allowing them to act faster (and sometimes you have to be very fast to comment on minor changes with great effect) I hope somebody else at least partly takes on this role.

Also z.B. weil du gehört hast Kandidat C von Partei B ist super, aber eigentlich magst du Partei B nicht so, oder vielleicht steht er dort sogar auf Listenplatz 10. Du kreuzt ihn an. Dann kreuzt du Liste A an, damit all deine anderen Stimmen dorthin gehen. Eine Liste wo du mit den generellen Zielen übereinstimmst.
Well there is the Stop Killing Games initiative started by Ross Scott and supported by the Pirate Parties. If they succeed, companies selling games in recent years will be required to either keep supporting their game or to make it available in a way so that others can ensure its continued support.
When this is achieved the step to free older games is small.

Schon 2014 haben die Piratenparteien ein länderübergreifendes Programm aufgestellt. Mit tatsächlichen Auswirkungen da Piraten aus Tschechien und Deutschland im Parlament sind. Nach dieser Wahl vermutlich auch Luxemburg :)
Transnationale Liste sind Thema seit 2018, noch bevor Volt gegründet wurde.
Und Geld müssen sie haben wie Heu.
Ich bin für die Piraten aktiv, auch aktuell am Plakatieren. Jede Stadt und Gemeinde hat da Regeln (allgemeine wie: “Nicht die Sicht in Kreuzungen versperren”, “nicht an Schilder die fließenden Verkehr regeln” und spezielle wie “Die Plakate müssen den Boden berühren” - München, “selbe Partei mindestens 100m Abstand” - FFB) Die meisten halte ich für sinnvoll. Doch Volt hängt hier einfach überall, in Kreisverkehren, auf Verkehrsinseln, an Vorfahrtsschildern, …
Wir Piraten bekommen in München schnell einen Hinweis “Da hängt ein Plakat falsch, 3 Tage für den Beweis, dass ihr euch drum gekümmert habt, sonst 75 € und später mehr” Wird bei Volt nicht anders sein. Trotzdem hängen deren Plakate, teils direkt neben welchen von uns die gemeldet wurden, noch wochenlang da.
Ergo sagen sie entweder “Wir leisten uns das” und haben entsprechend Geld, oder sie sind überfordert von all den Meldungen und nach der Wahl pleite.
Die Piraten folgen tatsächlich der Wissenschaft und sind auch deshalb gegen Atomkraft (und die aktuell breit gepushte Wasserstoffinitiative)
Zudem haben sie im Parlament auch einiges erreicht. Genug, dass sogar, ohne Witz, Sonneborn sie empfiehlt.

Vor allem natürlich beim Datenschutz, aber die tschechischen z.B. auch beim Klimaschutz.
Ein gemeinsames Europäisches Programm gibts länger als Volt, und diesmal stehen die Chancen gut auch aus Luxemburg Piraten ins Parlament zu bekommen :)

A hour later I come trumphant into my brothers room: “I won!” “No, I am winning! See?” And indeed he was.
The game had somehow lost synchronisation, but it transferred just enough to let each player seem alive to the other one. Two happy players that day :)
Zu der Geschichte von damals nur ganz kurz, dass der Beschuldigte damals hinter dem Rücken des Vorstands die Wahlunterlagen selbst eingereicht hat und somit nicht mehr von der Liste geschmissen werden konnte. (Alle Details hier) Ich bin sehr froh, dass Patrick Breyer es dennoch reingeschafft hat. Er ist wirklich mein Traumpolitiker und wenn ich ehrlich bin: In die gewaltigen Fußstapfen wird wohl niemand mehr nachfolgen können. Gleichzeitig bin ich froh über jeden der es versucht.
Realistischerweise erreichen wir ein Mandat, das stimmt. Dafür braucht man nur etwas mehr als 0,6% der Stimmen. Für zwei sind es dann schon 1,5% (Ja das Wahlsystem ist wieder mal komisch). Richtig freuen würde ich mich wenn es sogar Lukas auf Platz drei reinschafft. Er macht schon länger Praktikum bei Patrick.
Ein Wiki Artikel wäre toll. Mit dem deutschen Wikipedia ist das nicht so einfach: Relevanzkriterien. Person -> Politiker -> International: Muss schon im Parlament sein oder gewesen sein. Den Vorteil haben nur alte Hasen und Patrick wird sich verdiente Zeit für seine Familie nehmen.

Schau dir doch einfach mal an, was Patrick Breyer im EU Parlament so alles erreicht hat zur aktuellen Amtsperiode. Wenn du auf dem Newsportal deiner Wahl nach ihm suchst solltest du einiges finden. Die breite Presse stürzt sich halt gern auf persönliche Sachen, gute Politik ist da eher ein Nebensatz und der Name Piratenpartei fällt dann in den Artikeln teils nicht mal mehr.
Ein Beispiel: Breyer hat die Sperrminorität gegen die Chatkontrolle organisiert (auch wenn das Thema leider noch nicht ganz vom Tisch ist) und hat auch erstmals auf das Thema aufmerksam gemacht. Nebenbei veröffentlicht er als einer der sehr wenigen (als einziger?) Politiker im EU Parlament alle Treffen mit Lobbybezug, damit man immer Transparent mitverfolgen kann wer Einfluss auszuüben versucht.
Die Nachfolger Anja Hirschel und Lukas Küffner kenne ich persönlich und kann für beide bürgen.
Über die Jahre haben die Piraten immer nur gute Politik gemacht, aller Presse zum Trotz. Deswegen unterstütze ich sie auch gern weiter.

Which just says there should be more investigation before accusations are made. Asking for evidence. If you have a link to an interview or talk where he does as you said I would be interested to hear how he phrased it.
I want to point out one thing I have seen far to often in recent times: If a person or group of the left make a wrong statement others which previously followed them are quick to change their view and declare them as persona non grata. On the other hand we have the far right which spills out lies after lies and their followers are so used to it that even disproving them in multiple points does not touch their loyality in any way. I think we should focus more on welcoming people who try to do good thing. If they make a wrong step we should not shun them but try to show them why they did wrong. At least hey try to better themselves and you/we have a good chance to convince them of the better way.
See for example Snowden. He made the mistake to believe Russia would never invade Ukraine. An easy mistake if you have to live inside Russia propaganda machine. Upon realizing his error he was so struck by it, because he uses his social media reach to better the world and now trough a mistake he abused it for spreading propaganda, that he apologized and stopped tweeting for many months.
This is generally true, but there are also many notable exceptions. Here in Germany I could name:

So its spreading via a closed source VPN software. Why should you even use that when there is great VPN software available on Linux which works reliable for decades?
Well of course you miss zero trust connections, multi-cloud readiness, award‑winning security and proven secure corporate access …
The point is, they already did. 99% of webservers run Linux. They are all out in the open and hackers love to get their hand on them as they are likely to have mailservers on them and they have a public IP so they can always be reached.
And most of them do not get hacked. And those that do mostly get hacked due to bad passwords or bad website code. I administer one and see the thousands of attacks running up against it daily (most are just attempts to log in with basic credentials). And of course I see the daily influx of updates from Linux.
If a new security flaw is seen, its often quite difficult to use. And with Linux somebody makes a patch before simple tool for hackers are out. With Microsoft products you wait till the next patch day, in the best case critical exploited bugs are patched in days. Also security flaws in closed source products are often easier to exploit and tools to use them are available fast. (Such flaws are often already discovered in open source products by third eyes and testers before they make it to production systems.)
Of course there are exceptions to the rule, like heartbleed. This was an easy to exploit flaw in an often used Linux service and it caused a big turmoil because many where to slow to patch their systems.
Also of course if Linux gets more popular on the desktop more software will be an attractive target for malicious actors and some software may get popular before many people take a look at the source code. But the situation will still be much better compared to closed source systems.
(Also of course more closed source software will be made for Linux then)

are completely arcane tough.
I support both systems. And Linux support is so much easier. Mostly in runs out of the box. If it runs I continues to do so and If you have an error you get a specific message like above.
With such a message you either:
With Windows: No systems runs out of the box, I always have to install additional software (7zip, sane browser, …) and also for anybody remotely privacy concerned have to adjust many settings (for which tools exist thankfully)
If an error occurs under Windows and I get a code like above:
In this case shit software. For a secure conference software there should be no possibility for the user to accept invalid certificates.
The developer always has to plan with what we call a DAU in germany (Dümmster anzunehmender User = dumbest user possible), and even that user should have no possibility to accidentally share a secure conference. So as a developer I would: Lock the user to certificates and encryption keys I deem secure and hook into the low level OS functions to grab the screen and disable them to prevent accidental sharing via software like Anydesk and the like which the user forgot to close. This would even interrupt the functions of a simple trojan on the PC.
Of course a dedicated attacker with physical or admin access to the device could always break these. But then you have another big security breach.
Wird das hier problematisiert? Der Artikel ist sehr neutral gehalten und fasst zusammen, was Ricarda Lang auf ihrer Website veröffentlicht hat. Bzw. paraphrasiert es, denn der Text ist in etwas genauso lang. Sogar der Teil "Auf der Webseite betont die Grünen-Politikerin, dass sie neben der Abgeordnetenentschädigung und der Kostenpauschale keine weiteren Einkünfte habe. " ist dabei und unterstreicht, dass andere eben durchaus fragwürdige Nebeneinkünfte haben.
Weshalb ist der Artikel mit “Grünen-Chefin” getitelt? Weil sie nun mal das kurz und knacking veröffentlicht hat (oder lassen hat) und Zeitungen abschreiben. Das dann mit der Person zu verknüpfen ist halt wichtig für Menschen und Reichweite.
Habe ich auch entdeckt. Großartig. Auch wenn ich immer noch einen Nachfolger von den guten alten Linux Handys vermisse (N900, N9). “nicht mit allen Gängigen Smartphones kompatibel” ist allerdings eine Untertreibung: Es geht nur mit den Google Pixel Geräten.
Ich habe ein Google Profil mit Google Play Services, sehr wenigen Apps und einem Big Brother Background damit ich nicht vergesse wo ich bin und mein Hauptprofil ohne Google Dienste. Das Google Profil hat auch keinen Zugriff auf den Standort.
Einen großen Haken hat Graphene aktuell: Backups. Früher wurde Seedvault verwendet, dann gab es wohl Zwist zwischen den Entwicklern von Seedvault und Graphene und Graphene beschloss etwas eigenes zu Entwickeln. Ergebnis bisher: Keins. Und so ist immer noch Seedvault die einzige Möglichkeit, nur, dass es inzwischen eine veraltete und teils kaputte Version ist. Das musste ich kürzlich schmerzlich lernen.
Ich empfehle eine eigene Lösung zu bauen und Apps zu verwenden die Daten auf dem Speicher ablegen. (Z.B. termux+rsync in meinem Fall)
Sonst funktioniert das System aber so wunderbar, dass ich es trotz der Unannehmlichkeit Empfehlen kann.

It was the last release with KDE 3 and very polished for its time. Many applications from back then have vanished by now. Kopete was Magic, supporting all IM protocols (Including Yahoo video calls!), Amarok was so reliable and sleek.
Of course most things have improved since then, but I remember it fondly.
