How does one apply to live in such futures? Because this timeline looks like a bunch of rich douches will join the committee, use it to get richer and live happily ever after.
The price and quality go hand in hand.
Things have a cost and if you’re not paying it in full, somebody else has to. Maybe it’s the Chinese government. Maybe it’s the slave who built it. Maybe it’s future you, struggling to engage windshield wipers on an unresponsive piece of garbage while on the highway.
The price of EVs is due in large part to the battery, so there is only so much you can cut. Some companies sell you a battery with a bare bone car around it (see Dacia spring), others try to justify the price by selling you a premium car (see ioniq or tesla), and others cut down on the battery by selling you a city car with a very limited range (see Renault Zoe or that funny mini car from Citroen).
As things stand now there is just no way to make an EV with both comparable price and performance to an ICE. What needs to happen is technological development on batteries, which would have been much better by now had we bothered to give a fuck years ago.
Ah well if we are considering suicidal strategies then there are simpler and more efficient solutions to achieve the electrification goal!
For example we could just shoot anybody who drives ICE, we’d have 100% market share in a week.

What are you even implying with this? That it wasn’t Hamas that did 7/10? That it isn’t Hamas that’s in charge of Gaza’s government? What did I say that’s not even worth replying with words?
Fuck me I meant hamas obviously sorry for the confusion. All the news are about hezbollah nowadays so I had a brain fart.
With that said- Hamas was elected forever ago and has since abused and brainwashed their population, they don’t represent Palestine any more than Putin represents the Russian people, which is to say the least debatable. Of course it doesn’t help that Israel did absolutely nothing to be hated less.
Hamas=Palestine is what Israel wants you to think. That’s two millions of terrorists over there, what’s the harm in bombing them? Since when are we nice to terrorists? — don’t let your disgust for Israel play you into their hand.
As for their endgame - do you think Hamas did 7/10 in order to have land back? In what world was a massacre of civilians going to give them bargaining power? They baited Israel into behaving like monsters out in the open at the expense of their own population, and Israel bit hook line and sinker. That was Hamas’s objective and it worked.
Please let’s keep in mind that health ministry = Palestinian government = hezbollah, so not exactly the most trustworthy source of information. Their endgame is pretty much world outrage against Israel.
Don’t get me wrong, I am disgusted by what that neonazi cunt of a country is doing in Palestine. I have no doubt that Israel is bombing, starving, executing civilians by the thousands. Fuck Israel sideways.
I am as far as it gets from an Israel apologist, but in the interest of intellectual honesty let’s keep that in mind.
Edit: Hamas not hezbollah wtf was I thinking
Why? Ancient apocalypse is a blast to watch.
Granted you have to watch it for the entertainment, god forbid you take stuff like that seriously - but it is very fun!

If you think BSDs are devoid of drama you’re in for a cold shower…
Switch to OpenBSD if you have to, at least the drama there is super funny
Ah yes, just like that time when Mandrake kernels burned the cd drives…
That’s by no means a routine upgrade though, the guy just “upgraded to” backports which you’re not even supposed to do. Not comparable to the soothingly boring apt upgrade of Debian stable.
TBH I don’t even remember the last time some actually important bug came out on the kernel, long gone are the days of ptrace-kmod.c and hatorihanzo.c
If you haven’t special requirements then just use Debian stable, and never be worried about an update again.
It’s hard to take iPhone longevity seriously though until they do something about the batteries.
True, the phones themselves are functional and updated for a long long time, but after a few years it’s unthinkable to go anywhere without a power bank and that’s a great motivator for throwing an otherwise perfectly good phone. If they actually cared they’d make the battery replaceable.
