There’s a used Xbox one X for sale locally and I’m curious if y’all think it would be worth it in 2023?

I currently play Game Pass games on my very capable PC and on my tablet, and I don’t own any physical Xbox games. I’m wanting a device that will let me play on my TV in a room that isn’t close to my PC. Although, I eventually plan on running an HDMI over Cat6 cable to connect my PC to the TV.

I tried using the web browser on my tv for game pass, but the lag was terrible.

So now I’m considering buying this cheap Xbox one X to help me solve this problem.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I would probably recommend a Series S if you’re looking for something cheaper, plus is it’s a current system so you’ll still get access to any new games that come out, while with the One X you’ll be limited to older games.

Series S is the best choice. Of course the initial investment will be higher but you will have a new generation console that will last for the next 10 years. It’s worth it.

If this is a stopgap solution to your HDMI over Ethernet plan, I would say no. I think it would be smarter to run the display to your TV in another room as long as you don’t have connection issues with the controller.

Yeah, that’s the ultimate plan. I just keep making excuses for not wanting to crawl under the house.
