Hi, long-time Sync user here; I would like to share with you what I consider the best settings to reach an excellent experience (IMHO obviously)
Below are only the changes I apply to the default values
Settings > General
- “use drawer navigation” [Enabled]
Settings > Experimental
- “sliding panel style drawer” [Enabled]
- “highlight stickied posts” [Enabled]
Settings > View type
- “slides”
- “preview full width” [Enabled]
- “save” [Disabled]
- “right aligned voting” [Enabled]
Settings > Post options
- “swipe to hide” [Enabled]
- “extend swipe posts …” [Disabled]
Settings > Comment options
- “single click to hide comment” [Enabled]
- “collapse parent” [Enabled]
- “single click to hide comment” [Enabled]
I absolutely cannot stand this behavior, if I accidentally tap instead of scroll then comment trees will expand/collapse and then I feel lost. Jerboa has this behavior and it was the most annoying thing about it when I used it, I’d say it was close to making me feel nauseous at times.
But hey, that’s the great thing about Sync being so customizable, you can choose whatever behavior you prefer!
Yeah, I really appreciate the fact that it’s an action that can’t be done accidentally in most cases.
I think hide feature is broken. Hide 1st post in the feed, restart app, see the hidden post…
I’ve been getting this, but if I press Hide all Read posts then it’ll go away again.
That’s it! Thank you, this works, but I have not found option to enable that by default…
Just worked on your post.
I like coloured comment indents…
I really like having inline linking on, for both usernames and communities.
List or bust.
hmm. the collapse parent setting isn’t working for me for some reason. it’s on but the parent comments aren’t collapsing. dunno what’s going wrong on my end ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I think that for “parent” it means the comment you are clicking, eg.:
|-- comment A
|---- subcomment B
if you have that enabled and you collapse A, both A and B are collapsed
if you have that disabled and you collapse A, only B is collapsed
That’s it! Thank you, this works, but I have not found option to enable that by default…
