It all depends on the quality content that we the users create. More quality content and more people will come.

What will not be visible in the metrics Reddit currently cares about (max user base/views) is that they may have lost a lot of the people who produced the long term content that kept people coming back and the people that kept their communities free from being overrun by garbage posts
