[[Isshin, Two Heavens as One]] [[Winota, Joiner of Forces]]

I love my jank decks, but I wanna make something that’s quick and effective for the “attack with x creatures” dailies, and wins even if I get paired with a Hell Queue commander. Deciding between Isshin or Winota. Anyone have experience with either and would recommend them?

I’d go with Winota if she wasn’t nerfed, but since she is, is she still worth running?

I played Winota pre-ban/nerf and she was obviously busted, winning through the Hell queue. Those games were just kind of boring but for dailies she was great.

I wish I had direct experience today but limiting it to just 1 creature now has both pros and cons to be honest. As a plus, it has to have kicked her out of the top tier decks so you’d get to play much more variety. As a minus though the nerf significantly reduces your ability to attack with tons of creatures quickly for quests. I think since you’re building her with tons of cmc<=2 creatures anyway it has to still be one of the better commanders for these quests.

I searched the Historic discord just now as well and she has no posts in the Brawl room since February 2022 :(

Hmm, I end up facing Hell Queue commanders even when I’m playing something like Werewolves, so I wanted something that’ll stand a fair shot regardless of if the game is nice with my matchmaking.

Winota does seem like much more of a fair card now, but if no one’s really using her anymore… is Isshin more popular? I’ve only fought a couple of Isshin decks but they didn’t seem super well put-together.

I could run Winota in Isshin still too, that seems like it would be good.
