Due to the absence of the previous mods, and the lack of anybody maintaining the community, the old mods have been replaced. During this time things have been more relaxed, fortunately we are a small community and nobody caused many problems. Some posts have remained that do break some of the rules, but they seem to have been well received, so were thinking about changing some of the rules like allowing posting of non-UNIX operating systems, or not strictly needing thigh highs. We’re interested in hearing the community’s feedback on these matters. Is there anything that you think needs addressed, or would like changed, please leave a comment on this post and we will see what changes, if any, need to be made.
I vote for queer people in front of a computer.
theres cool alternative or old OSs that arent unix so it would be cool to be allowed to make cute posts with those :3 and Ive seen people do cool things in windows so I guess as long as theres something interesting its fine, basically the community seems to like ‘interesting software + cute queer person’
Ive seen posts without long socks or even no visible socks at all but they all contained legs, I dont know if the community would like posts that are legless but instead have like arms or someone in a cute dress or something, but at least people seem to like any legged posts
I do think it’s a tad pedantic to enforce a *nix OSs only sort of rule, I think the general interest for tech/computers should be on display period, and trying to draw lines on how that can be shown based on the OS of all things does feel a bit off. It is not in everyone’s best interest or desire to run a Unix-based OS and I don’t think that should immediately bar people from posting here.
Now I am certainly new here and I’m sure people will disagree with me but this is just my 2 cents
I tend to agree with you, the only thing I would like to add is that Windows and others os’es have plenty of spaces for them on the internet already, and having a space primarily for nerdy Linux like os’es is a good thing, but I don’t think we need to be exclusionary, just protective of the ideas and vibes of the community.
I think without that rule this would become a pcmasterace-with-socks community…
On the other hand close enough pictures, would enrich the community…
yeah, that’s kinda where I’m at with it too, I don’t think people should be immediately banished because they chose to put say windows 7 on an old thinkpad instead of linux and take a pic with that
