Imo, one’s level of physical experience with something doesn’t, on its own, necessarily determine one’s qualifications. I don’t really believe that there are necessary specific qualifications that determines if someone is qualified or unqualified to state an accurate claim or form a sound argument. I believe that such mindsets risk the creation of appeals to authority. Imo, atomic claims are either correct or incorrect. What’s important is how they are stated ­— was it stated factually? was it explicitly prefaced as an anecdote? were its risks outlined? I think that you stating that your perceived inexperience up front is a good way to express the 3rd possibility, and I appreciate your transparency, but I don’t think that makes you unqualified to say what you said.
