A New Jersey man whose 24 year prison sentence for fraud was commuted by Donald Trump has been charged with orchestrating a new Ponzi scheme. Eli Weinstein was one of 143 people who were granted executive clemency in the final hours of Trump’s presidency. Less than a year after leaving prison, authorities say Weinstein launched a scheme that defrauded 150 victims out of more than $35 million.

The campaign to get Trump to grant clemency to Weinstein was later the subject of a New York Times story, which detailed how Weinstein’s allies paid for access to various Trump insiders.
Bribing the president to get out of jail for fraud, it’s every billionaires dream.
Only topped by repeat customers willing to pay said bribes…

And to think, Clarence Thomas’ wife was taking bribes on his behalf before it was cool.
Susan Collins is sure but he and Trump have really learned their lesson this time.
But for real this time, they super-duper promise.
We need to get this into a retaining program, maybe a coding camp? He is falling back on the only thing he knows. Can’t expect a miner to work in solar with the same skills, and you can’t expect a criminal to work a straight job either.
In this case it was another scorpion that helped him out though.
