There are tons of free tools out there that work great, but are there any that run locally on my machine? ty
This is c/privacyguides, not c/piracyguides.
this isn’t piracy
It is the copyright work product of someone else…that is absolutely piracy (theft).
Photoshop.
see that would require me to do manual work no?
You want to essentially steal the photos and don’t want to do work for it? If you don’t want them, don’t pay…but to take them and not pay? Yep, that’s theft.
well I don’t have to do work bc I can just use a free online tool. I was just hoping to not have to upload them to some random ass website
“random ass website”
Definitely not a pRIVacy guides question, but pIRacy guides question.
It’s overpriced all the times tho
Doesn’t matter if it’s overpriced. Theft is theft, no matter how you justify it. I’m honestly not judging…well, maybe a little on the “I don’t want to do work for stealing it.”
Gimp, maybe
There are a few projects here and there that do it, like this one (haven’t tried it). Generally if you find projects online like that, they’re generally written for the purposes of a particular academic paper and might not work very well for the general case, but the worst you can do is try it out.
The “random ass websites” you find that do a good job of it probably have put more work into training a good general-purpose model. If you want, you could try doing that yourself, but it would require a fair bit of work.
Do they send them, or do they provide you with a website where they are hosted? I once worked around this by guessing the url scheme used by the hosting provider which something like
<url>/images/size-4080x3072-<UID>.jpg
. The UID was the same for the previews and for the larger sizes. It turned out that the larger sizes were not actually previews but the raw image data provided in a link to you when you pay.so then how would I download those then?
