I just did a small trail of around 7 kilometers in which I had to DNF 3 of the 12 caches.

In two instances I found the remains of what probably was the cache (1 a passer-by confirmed so), in 1 case I found nothing at all.

1 cacher before me logged those three caches as “found” even though he described he only found remains or “Probably found remains”. He has around 8500 and his partner 16000 finds on his profile.

What do you do when you know you found what is supposed to be the cache, but you cannot physically log it and you know it’s out of place? What’s the etiquette here.

I personally logged DNF and made a “needs maintenance” notice on the one I knew for sure was gone.
