RIF was important to me in a way that’s hard to describe. I will always consider it the pinnacle of minimalism functional design. and it was not function over form either, RIF looked amazing.
Is anyone throwing out invites for tildes? i suppose i should have tried to get in sooner, but i was holding out hope that reddit would get it together and back off. They seem determined to digg themselves though.
This was very much the case for me as well! I’ve been on reddit for 11 years and RIF was very much a large part of that. I would open the app every day. RIF was literally the first app I would install on new phones. I uninstalled it when it stopped working and keep looking for it when I get bored. I left reddit at that point and went looking for something new. Now I’m here, getting used to the different ways of doing things, and quite hopeful that I won’t have to leave for a long time. Reddit did burn me a little, and because of that I don’t want all my eggs in one basket, so I created accounts on 11 servers in case one disappears or something… that way I can still do things. Did I go overboard? Probably, maybe definitely. But until I figure all this out a little bit better I’m going to keep all my accounts active. But I’ll definitely pick one to be my main one soon. 😁
