Xbox needs to lose the ads on the home screen. Put them on a different tab, like a “Whats New” tab. Seeing ads first thingnyou see when you boot your console makes it feel like a cheap knockoff product, and it makes me feel like I dont own the console I paid for.

I agree, maybe make it a “perk” for having GamePass. The ability to hide ads.

Yeah, look, the only reason we cant 100% fully customize everything about the homescreen is so they can control the ads. Every single discussion about the homescreen always boils down to what do we do about the ads.

At this point I wont be surprised if it played a 30 second add when you launched the damn thing, directly conflicting with all the marketing about how fast it booted in the beginning.

I like phil spencer as much as the next guy and im sure these kinds of decisions arent up to him but these guys arent our friends and they will market to us whenever they can.

Still not a fan of having ad tiles on the home screen but I’m loving that you can see more of the background. I hate choosing a cool background image just to see 80% hidden behind clutter

I’m an insider so I’m already on this dashboard. It is nicer because you can see more of the background but the ads still need to go.

I wish they’d stop messing about with the UI. Maybe take a page out of Sony’s book and get right first time and just release the odd small tweak.

I am not really a fan of the new design. A little bit better than before, maybe? But it feels even more polluted with more small blocks. Also, hate the ads

I like it but maybe the could have made a little more effort for the design and the aesthetic. At least we can see our backgrounds now!

And I really don’t mind the ads, actually it allows me to see what is being released. As long as it remains games related I’m ok

I can put up with the ads when it’s for upcoming games. It’s when I get ads for like chips or pop or some other crap that isn’t game related. Had an ad for gasoline one time. Was ridiculous lol.

I disliked the change initially, but only because I was used to the previous dashboard. After spending some time, I like that it’s different - I have a Series X and I was disappointed when the dashboard was the same as the Xbox One. I think it looks fairly clean now, but maybe not as easy to see which app/game I’m selecting?

This is ugly. It’s pretty much a Windows desktop, but with the taskbar at the top.

Looks like a half assed PlayStation cross media bar. It looks pretty terrible.
