I’ve been listening to this NPR (public radio) show, Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me, for probably 20 years. It’s a comedy news quiz, and they have listeners call in to participate. I’ve wanted to call in since I was a kid (I’m 31 yo now), but I’ve got some fun anxiety around talking to people if I don’t know what to expect. Could anyone give a rundown of what happens when you call in to something like this, so I can be prepared? Thank you!!
Here’s a great blurb about it right from the source.

Wait wait don’t tell me actually records on Thursday. I’ve tried to get thru, but never have. I am also an avid wwdtm listener of 20 years. It’s crazy how consistently good the delivery is. Let us know if you get that sweet voice of your choice on your voicemail. I’ve tried to call in various times before show start but have never been the caller. Good luck!
I haven’t called in but I’ve gone to the live recording a couple of times and it’s so fun! A lot of the ad libbing got cut when it aired. If you are ever in Chicago on a Thursday I’d recommend it.
